  1. I suspect the rivlary will be bigger and better than ever. The Yankees collapse in the post-season (a beautiful thing to behold) will make the team, and its owner, charged up to never let such a debacle repeat itself. They will try to make themselves bigger and better. A-Rod will have all winter to think about his shameful slap maneuver. It will be fever pitch in April. Can't wait! Also, XM Radio is carrying all baseball games so I can finally follow the action down here in Virginia in FM-quality sound....
  2. Anyone who wrote a screenplay about what has ocurred in the the last 2 weeks in Boston baseball history would be laughed out of Hollywood. Once again, truth is way better than fiction.
  3. Come on, wouldn't you like the Cards to win tonight so the Red Sox could win the World Series at Fenway? Or is that too much of a gamble?
  4. For sheer entertainment value, it is hard to imagine topping the ALCS. The World Series games - so far - have not been close and thus, though interesting, they have not been exciting. I want to the Sox to win as much as anyone - I've been a fan since 1975 - but you always want the juice-flowing factor. Maybe the Red Sox-Yankees Epic Battle of last week burned me out, I don't know. This has been a let down. The Cards seem wooden - the small ball and fast, creative base-running aren't there. Neverthless, I would like to have it end tonight, and all day today I will be visiualizing the last three outs and finally, putting to bed all of the frustrations which have burdened my formative years!"
  5. At least it's over early. I would hate to see the Sox lose by one run in the bottem of the ninth again. Stuff like that is what made me bald in the first place.
  6. Folks, the season is over for them. You simpy can't lose one run games to the Tigers and expect post-season.

  8. I just saw the reruns from last night. He may be a war hero, but John Kerry throws like a girl.
  9. Sara you crack me up.
  10. Note to ESPN: this is baseball, not the John Kerry Show. Why don't you get a Kerry cam and watch him order a hot dog, and go to the bathroom? Get back to the game you weenies.
  11. Keep your head Derek!
  12. History would suggest that Lowe will meltdown.
  13. At the risk of being a contrarian: 1. Boston's errors continue. 2. Joe Morgan knows more about baseball than the accumulated wisdom of this honorable discussion board. That said, that was a helluva game yesterday and the game ending home run was so damn great. It made it easier to get up this morning.
  14. Folks, this team has TALENT. Other towns would kill for Pedro-Shill-Manny-Ortiz-Nomar combo. On paper, the Sox have as much juice as the Yankees do, with one essential difference: fear of, and respect for, the manager. How do you think the Yankees keep their winning ways, with the same combo of egos, pressure, and madness? El Torre!! The Yanks can't grow their hair below the lip. No music in the clubhouse. You better believe you can see the NY on their helmuts. And those rules help refine their play - crisp, clean-cut, no crybabies. Tito's a good man, but Machievelli said it is better to be feared than loved, and no one on the team seems afraid to lose or act like a spoiled brat. Time for a new manager. After this weekend, no matter the outcome. And summer reading: http://img.epinions.com/images/opti/48/aa/0786865687-resized200.jpg
