    curt is awesome, and I appreciate his candor. I also agree with him.. only about 11:30 hours to go... I have decide to devote my entire work day to reading every article online about the game and doing nothing that isnt redsox related.

    I just read where Tek is an incredible 0-for-34 with 19 strikeouts at Yankee Stadium this year and fell from .248 to .196 lifetime at the Bronx. The swoon included an 0-for-10 performance with eight strikeouts during the Sox' last visit to Yankee Stadium Sept. 17-19. Somehow it would help a lot if he were able to reverse this curse, oops, I mean change that trend. we need ya today Tek!

    I just got this off redsox.com. I am so friggin restless, waiting for the series to start I went over to read what they ahd to say and saw this....I guess they want 11 arms and youk, got the shaft. I guess we have pokey, but els had convinced me that we need an additional infielder, but with the longer series I guessthis makes sense, as well. The Red Sox will make one roster change for the start of the American League Championship Series, adding a veteran reliever in Ramiro Mendoza who is no stranger to postseason baseball, or, for that matter, Yankee Stadium. In the Division Series sweep against the Angels, the Sox went with 10 pitchers and 15 position players. They decided they needed as much pitching as possible against the fearsome lineup of the Yankees, so rookie third baseman Kevin Youkilis won't be on the roster for this round. The yankees suck, I hate the yankees, I want us to crush 'em.

    oh my God, yankee fans need help. I was disrespecting Mo's family? What are you friends with them? I'm not. I would say if he's not there it helps us, and I will say it again. If he's not there it will help us. I didnt have anything to do with happened, but it happend. And if it happens to my family and Mo makes a joke I will understand. My God, what is this Polically correct hell. Are you the guy who sends Dave Chappelle e-mails, outraged by his use of vulgar language. Or the guy who boycotts products who advertsie on Howard Stern, who incidentially says a lot worse stuff than this. Get your head out of your ass. I know that's the usual place for a yankee head, but give me a break. In the meantime I can see that this series is going to be high voltage, oops, I mean have a lot of fireworks..yeah fireworks now that isnt disrespectful. at least I dont think so.

    i just read this in the new york daily news. I wasnt aware of some of these ailments. Game 1 starter Mike Mussina is fine and should be well-rested because he flew back to New York before Game 4 against the Twins in order to be ready to start in a possible decisive game. But Lieber and Brown both have back problems, though the Yankees claim not to be worried. There are other problems, too. In Game 4, Javier Vazquez had an outing that was typical of his substandard second half, throwing several sharp innings but ultimately giving up too much to be considered effective. As for Orlando Hernandez, who knows? He did not throw yesterday or Saturday and no one seems to know if he will ever be able to contribute this October, though a bullpen

    piece of cake? I'm not sure about that, but we will win... I dont think any game with the MFY's is a piece of cake. I think though that this series is going to be epic and I want to kick there asses. I think mussina is doing well lately, its going to take every one on our team to rise to the occasion. I am going nuts waiting... go sox.

    schills 100% right! francona is awful, and the sox are going to win in spite of him.. Torre is awesome and I respect him, he out manages us every chance he gets. Luckily our team is better and we are going to kick their f***ing asses. But francona is an idiot, and our winning will have nothing to do with him. Remeber grady litte, he won over 90+plus games and he was a dope. This management likes jellfish for managers and one who lets the players play... looks like they have gotten what they wanted and luckily so have we!

    i thought the same thing, about wnating him to play so there would be no excuses. That said I wouldnt mind him missing a game or two, but as someone posted I looked it up online and they (Cashman) said he wont miss any games.

    I have always thought mendoza as well, and now that confirms it. They are paying mendoza a pretty penny and he has been really looking better lately and we were seeing some dividend for that investment. They should make that switch. I see williamson is going under the knife...good luck scottie.

    they do say he'll be back, but even if he is I bet they dont use him, so I think this does help us. Every thing that can be used as an adbvantage is fair game. I think what happened sounds awful, but he still is among the best so we know he'll be tough whenever he comes back. But of course, he is human and we have proved that. His stuff is awlays electrifying, oops, I mean he still has a live wire for an arm, oops. I mean he still is good.

    I would like to propose that somehow all Yankmee fans be banned from posting here from now on.... This is our day, this is our site and this is our series. I for one dont feel like hearing their BS, their pompous taunts, and stupid cliches, and GOD FORBID that 1918 crap. Take your 26 rings and shove them up your ass. I am worried about schillings ankle, whats the word, just an ache than a pain killer can mask or something more...

    I go with sox in 7....This is going to be a roller coaster ride to remeber thats for sure. I think we're in damn good shape and hope we win in less than 7 games, but these teams just are evenly matched. I think our pitching is better, and so is our pen. Their manager is far superior and that is a problem. But when the dust settles and I regain consciousness, these bunch of idiots are going to take those scumbags--once and for all!!

    I think having lowe anywhere gives me hives. I almost threw up the other night...The pen is just dandy without him, the only thing that it means as fas as I can see it, is now Francona has more options to make stupid moves. As usual though our team is so damn good it doesnt matter that we have the worst manager. I dont think derek has a place in the scheme of things anymore. Maybe as a long relief guy, but he is too much of mental patient to serve any important role... He helped no question but beware!

    that was awesome--I am so tired and already at work. But I dont care about anything else, that was awesome. Pedro stepped up. The whole team looks confident. I am not sure what the stats are but in the last 6 games against the Angels plus these last two we have ripped them apart. I thought they had a great bullpen, not so far they dont...not against us. I know..I know...its not over until John Edwards' wife signs, but damn I love this team. Damon, Orland, manny, do, tek, pedro...they just are all studs. How about timlin...that loss must have hurt the angels a lot. Back to boston and lest keep it going.
