  1. I think bellhorn's OBP, is pretty good but those strikeouts suck. Oralndo's OBP was lower than Edgar's, Edgar's a better hitter and a better fielder- whats not to like. He easily one of the top five shortstops in the majors. It's a step up.
  2. why are we even talking about someone for 06 its ridiculous... we need a #2 guy now.
  3. oh yeah!!! this is a good move....nay a great move. now tek and some starting pitching and we're all set!! oh and a first basemen... then we're alls et.. way to go theo.
  4. I like zenny's idea... I wouldnt mind seeing either minky or milar gho, or both. I think there is a lot of room for improvement at first base, and a lot of guys who would a nice fiit with club, if you take both kevin and doug's salary and gave it to one guy we''d be talking an A list type guy.
  5. yeah well, I wouldnt be so hostile but I read this quote from pedro: "My heart will always be with the Boston fans," Martinez said, speaking on TV in the Dominican Republic. "I hope that everyone who truly loves me will still support me now that I won't be with the Red Sox." I am still cleaning up the peas and carrots off my keyboard if you know what I mean. he is a great pitcher and I cheered madly for him, but is a great big a-hole as well. Meet the mets"...greet the Mets...pedro's goin' cheat the Mets.
  6. I'd be surprised if we could get an equipment manager with one arm and one leg for Kim.. I wouldnt hire him to work in a chinese or even a korean restaurant, he'd be too slow like his f***ing fastball.
  7. of course, there is no need to bitch, that's why its so fun to do it. He's an ******* and always was, a greedy pig. A great picther but a an ego maniac. The s*** the redsox were going to give him by way of perks makes me think he was bigger ******* than I even thought possible. I hope he does poorly with the Mets and they have to eat his big fat contract. He'll get eaten alive by the new york press--the first sign of his little spoiled prima dona ******** and theyll pounce-believ me.... They are already licking their chops, because the mets were so stupid to give an aging pitcher a four year deal. His first injury--probably in May sometime and they'll start chomping, and he'll start whining about respect and I'll sit back and smile.
  8. I like els' plan a lot. I hear jennings is a stud. Burnett I'd take..clement I think is Lowe again. Els, makes a good case for not signing tek, but I dont know enough about other guys top compare..I love tek and hope he statys. I think it's a good plan, other the part about kim, he should go back to korea na bother them for awhile. He shouldnt even be allowed in boston, much less on the team, The only thing I'd add about first base situation that has to be resolved. I would prefer someone new and everyday.
  9. sweet jesus...even if that's true...please can we not mention BK today... the though of him in the rotation. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He doesnt even belong in Pawtucket....
  10. this was in todays globe!! I cant take it any more-- what else can go wrong? Schilling doesn't think he'll be ready by Opening Day Red Sox ace says he's about a month behind in healing process By Boston.com Staff | December 14, 2004 Less than 24 hours after the Red Sox learned Pedro Martinez will be headed to the New York Mets for the next four years, there were indications they may be without another member of their starting rotation on Opening Day.
  11. fanatstic article by shaughnessy today in the globe about pedro... I dont always agree with dan but today he hit the nail right on the head. pedro's in for a rude surprise in the apple.... he snap like a twig..I guarantee it.
  12. 25!!!! please share your stash with the rest of us.....
  13. I hope we get rent....
  14. okay, so that's that...he bails for a few million, that will make a big difference to him when he retires I'm sure... he was great but I for one am not too broken up to see him leave. he was a spoiled baby--and not that I begrudge someone making a living, the new yorl newspapers will eat him alive when he starts with his prima dona s***.... thank you, good bye and good riddance...(greedy *******) respect my ass....here on earth we call it money. let's sign the non declining tek and soon!!!
  15. why are they still using words like--"likely"...because of the tear? Is the guy going and if so, what happens if he does fail his physical....? I am so confused right now.
  16. yeszir: you know we'll replace him by the end of the week-- where does get this stuff, I cant find anything on edgar...
  17. from the globe: BREAKING NEWS: WBZ radio is reporting that it appears Pedro Martinez will be leaving the Red Sox to take a four-year, $50 million deal with the New York Mets. Nothing is official and neither the Red Sox or the Mets have made an announcement. Developing story still hope.
  18. congratulations to peter gammons, who will be inducted into the writers wing of the hall. personally, I dont see it at all, but most of the poeple here seem to love and respect the guy! so congrats...
  19. that was a great interview, and it seems youk is a tremendous guy...a rarity-a throwback to the type of ballplayer they all should be.. I dont see how he factors into the future of the sox though, and I know poeple will jump all over me but I see a trade in his future....
  20. it seems most of these guys choose cash.
  21. are you talking about polanco? you make a good point.
  22. i saw that Mets want Delgado also. I beleive I was the on that said those things about pedro. I still want the sox to sign pedro dont get me wrong.. I wouldnt couint out the mets in the pedro hunt, according to the new york papers pedro is a priority.
  23. I guess it wasn't done yet. In spite of everything written here yesterday I still think I'd love to see Edgar on the sox..even over Orlando... I hope they sign him.
  24. oops, you're right sorry...wright passed his second physical? I read the fact he failed in today's post I guess I missed the [passing. Okay, well they still should go after Johnson, but I hope they dont./
  25. apparently jaret failed his physical-, and it looks like the deal may be off. I dont know about you guys but I take a perverse pleasure in seeing yankee deals get screwed up. The spanks also are about to sign Milton. right now its pavano, brown, vasquez, wright (?)...and milton... I guess if I were them I'd be looking for Johnson because right now that rotation aint oigoin g to make anyone piss ion their pants-that's for sure.
