    Expanding on Gom's point about Rodriguez batting .900 to make up for his failures in the clutch. He did have a 1.138 OPS with RISP in 2007. I guess that's almost as good as what you expected.

    There was no point, it was a fact. You said, "the FO handed him a rotation spot." He was given a rotation spot, because they had no real other option, when Schilling and Beckett went down. The FO wanted him to learn more at AAA. He wasn't projected to be in the rotation in March.

    Buchholz was supposed to start the year at AAA. Beckett, Schilling, Dice-K, Wakefield, and Lester were the orginal five starters. Schilling got hurt, Beckett went on the DL, and the Red Sox had little choice other than to go with Buchholz.
