    Have you seen him play recently? He can't hit good fastballs, and he has to cheat to hit average ones. He's extremely vulnerable to breaking balls, because of his inablity to hit the fastball. He's also 34 years old, has old player skills, and has the body of Mo Vaughn. This guy is cooked. Players like Ortiz see their numbers evaporate extremely swiftly. As for his June/July stats, David Ortiz has five of his fifteen HR's which are considered lucky HR's. He leads the AL in that category. The power just is not there this year. He's been a terrible burden on the Red Sox this year, and I hope he isn't asked back in 2010.

    Could have today. Davies was whistled offsides on a goal, but Mexico did outplay us. f***ing Bob Bradley subs in KENNY COOPER + STUART HOLDEN! Other than Landon Donovan, who could play in Europe, MLS players should be banned from the roster.

    Like the Youkilis fiasco, this is another one of those gray area situations. Would any of us be in the position to turn down the millions of incentives that Smoltz would receive if he pitches for another team? Would we turn down the $5.5 we were guaranteed to pitch for the Pawtucket Red Sox?

    Love seeing no Varitek and Ortiz in the lineup, but I believe the superior OBP threat at the top would be a better lineup.

    Ruth, Bonds, or Aaron would hit 1000 HR's in Japan. I say Ruth because of the 4,000 fewer AB's he had than Aaron. Had he spent his entire career as a hitter, he'd be the undisputed HR king.
