I've got Rome on too. He's killing them a little prematurely, but he's never liked the Yankees. This weekend, literally can reshape the race. Any one of the 4 teams (Yanks, Sox, Halos, ChiSox) could sweep their opponent. Should be a fun weekend. -
The speculation about it is getting pretty old. Unless we've got something concrete, we should just leave it alone for now. Yankee fans arbitrarily accusing Red Sox players, and vice versa. It won't end well.

I had some problems logging on here before. Tough 1st inning for Boomer, he broke about 10 bats. -
Rivera's being used (overused) because the Yankees can't afford to give away any games, and the bridge has been shaky of late. They need to go a good 3-4 days with Rivera just not pitching if they expect him to get to the point where he should be. Also, we can't afford to have Rivera pitch in games we don't win. If we use Mariano, we need to pick up the W.

Well a loss when we've got Leiter starting against King Felix Hernandez, with half our starting lineup sitting out, I can take the loss. When we've got Unit starting against Doug Waechter and the D-Rays, it's a bad loss.

I figured the Yanks would put a claim on him. He'd be a huge pickup for Boston.

I'm stretching it, lol. My only point is that I've read a lot of stuff about Yankee fans who are going to throw themselves off the GW Bridge after losing today. It's not as death worthy as its being exaggerated to be. Of course, not a good loss.

Rivera needs rest, at least 3 days off. Gordon and Sturtze could use a few off too. I know people are going to overreact to this loss, but it isn't the end of the world nor the end of realistic hope at the East.

Might, doesn't begin to describe it. Still plenty of time left. The loss hurts, but it isn't as crippling as it seems. Lots of Yankee fans going nuts on another message board.

Johnson was unspectacular today. They need to fix him. Hold on for the last three outs, it could be an adventure. Rivera badly needs 2 or 3 days off.

FYI, I did say from day one I thought the idea was not only detrimental to Schilling, but to the Red Sox as well. Closers shouldn't have BAAs over .300. He should've been rehabbing himself to be a starter, and if he can't do that you shut him down the rest of the year. Edit- also I don't think that is qualified as irony.

Well Alex Sanchez isn't exactly a power threat either. Anything's possible, although that would definitely be shocking. Both guys would be a black eye to baseball.

If the All Star Game 'counts' then it should have the best players on it, and shouldn't be selected by the fans. If it's an exhibition, let the fans pick. It's a dumb idea.

Word on Wall Street today was the two guys are Roger Clemens and Johnny Damon. I have no links or anything, but I got a phone call from my dad earlier asking me to check it online. I guess it's as arbitrary as any other rumor, but interesting enough.
