  1. The Yankees are 5th in the AL in ERA. The Red Sox are 8th. Which would mean that pitching should be more of a concern for you guys. Pitchers on the Yankees with ERAs over 5- Johnson, Chacon, Sturtze, Erickson, Small, Wilson, Bean, Ponson, Beam Since there is only one pitcher in there who will pitch down the stretch, what you are saying is the Abreu trade makes no difference because Randy Johnson has pitched bad. "Ohh, their bullpen has been good, Mussina and Wang have been lights out, and they added an RBI guy, 5th starter and great bench player at no cost..but Johnson is still crappy! Haha!"
  2. Nail on the head there. Say what you will about Wakefield, but he really f***ed you guys over by forcing a trade of Bard. He'd be the perfect fit.
  3. Sterling is so f***ing corny. AN A-BOMB FROM A-ROD! AND THE YANKEES LEAD 14-3! Chill out dude, save that for the playoffs and close games.
  4. Yeah, they definitely weren't chanting "Ber-nie, Ber-nie". Why on earth would he get chants for hitting the bases clearing double? Even Anne Frank could tell that they were chanting for Bernie.
  5. I guess I'm not as anti-Alex at this point as many other Yankee fans (I also didn't see the games in which he had his 4 errors). We're not getting rid of this guy, there is no way he would tarnish his legacy like that. This guy wants to be the best baseball player ever and if he gets dealt, he'll be the guy that couldn't handle the pressure in NY. Even when he approaches Aaron's record, he'll have it hang over his head that Jeter excelled in NY and he was inadequate. There is no way he'll let that happen. He's just gotta get his s*** together and start playing better. That won't happen until he relaxes. I'd love to have an honest conversation with the guy, just once. I'd want to find out why he adds all that extra pressure to himself, and explain to him why he shouldn't. All you have to do is hit, and it all goes away. I haven't lost confidence in Rodriguez yet, although Joe Torre and I may be the only ones. He didn't forget how to play, he's just having a really rough stretch. I went to the Melky walkoff game, and the fans gave A-Rod a standing ovation when he came up to pinch hit. I saw a guy wearing a t-shirt that said stop booing A-Rod. If he was truly villified that wouldn't happen. The fans want to see him succeed, and when he does they'll be able to support him again. It's tough to applaud somebody who is failing. If the Yankees plan on playing in October, we're going to need him.
  6. Wang is in the race with Jimmy Dolan for worst owner in sports. Thank God I'm not an Islander fan. The Rangers traded fan favorite Dominic Moore to Nashville today for 25 year old RW Adam Hall. Nashville then spun Moore off to Pittsburgh for a third round pick. Moore was a hard working penalty kill specialist and the Garden will miss him. Hall is a physical presence in front of the net, something the Blueshirts lacked last season. Something tells me the Rags are going to make another relatively big move before Opening Night.
  7. Yeah, Posada was scratched 10 minutes before first pitch according to the Yankee pregame. Foul ball of his hand in the 11th yesterday, but the Yankees already used their bench up and he stayed in the game. I never thought I'd call this team scrappy, but that's the way they are playing. If they keep getting pitching like this up and down the rotation they'll win a lot of games down the stretch. It would be nice to get Cano back soon.
  8. Top 3 attended Yankee game for me. Sat in Section 39, saw a 9th inning rally to tie, a walkoff win, and had an hour and a half rain delay to crack jokes with Yankee fans. Awesome night. Now, sleep. Precious sleep.
  9. Hahahahaha, that was a retarded rumor. ORTIZ AND MANNEY FOR CROSBY AND PROSPEKT!! THEY CANT REFUZE!
  10. The Steelers won with their phenomenal defense and a QB who didn't f*** up that much. Roethlisberger is a fundamentally sound quarterback, but he reminds me more of a Trent Dilfer SB Champion QB as opposed to a Brett Favre.
  11. Where's Liriano when you need him.
  12. While I'm sure the Italian did something classless and provoked him into it, Zidane has to keep his cool there. He's just gotta think for two seconds and realize how retarded that was.
  13. Now that is some funny s***. Zidane won the award for best player in the WC. While he was spectacular throughout the elimination round, I think he should lose most of his points when he takes the possibly the dumbest penalty in World Cup history. Overtime, championship game, last game of your career? God damn.
  14. Andy Phillips?
  15. My 1/8th German heritage is all I've got left to root for. We're going to Blitzkrieg the s*** out of that Italian team! Helluva shootout.
  16. Night games at the Stadium are so much more fun. Enjoy man. For all the hype the Mets are getting, they are only one game ahead of the Yankees in the loss column, despite playing the worst competition in baseball. I think the Sox exposed them this week, once again proving the vast superiority of the AL. Pitching matchups work in the Bombers favor, they should win all three this weekend.
  17. I'd go, without a doubt. Holy crap, I hope this happens. That many seats available, I'd be able to get a good crowd of my friends out there.
  18. Was that not a 'clutch' hit either?
  19. f***, f***, f***, / Mother, mother f***, / Mother, mother f***, f*** / Mother f***, mother f***, / Noich noich noich, / 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, / Noich, noich noich / Smokin' weed, smokin' wizz, / Doin' coke, drinkin' beers, / Drinkin' beers, beers, beers, / Rollin' fattys, smokin' blunts, / Who smokes the blunts? / We smoke the blunts. / Rollin' blunts and smokin'... God I hope Cano is ok.
  20. What's the scouting report on Sanguenitti?
  21. I'm surprised, you distinguished between *******s and Yankee fans, as if there is a difference. I sincerely doubt Pedro will get booed. There's no reason to hate on the Mets from a Sox standpoint.. well besides '86. As to the other point, yes Peter Gammons needs to be taken out to pasture and sent the way of Old Yeller.
  22. Dolan is actually trying to void the $40 Million by saying Brown violated Knicks policy or some crap. I despise that guy. He screwed the Jets out of their stadium, as well as NYC out of the Olympics. He's kept the Rangers in the tank for almost a decade, and took the Knicks from perennial NBA contender who got out of the first round of the playoffs every season for over a decade, to the worst franchise in sports. http://www.selltheknicks.com is planning on making their presence felt at the draft. That should be entertaining.
  23. It isn't acceptable for a veteran, let alone a rookie. Milledge has a boat load of problems on his record as a kid. He's going to be one of those maddening talents during his career. $20 million dollar talent, 10 cent brain.
