  1. Just keep in mind the problems Kaz Matsui had switching to defense over here. Lowell is a GG caliber third baseman.
  2. I'm tired of everyone being an expert on why A-Rod has had problems. Just leave the guy alone and let him play the damn game. Trading him would be incredibly stupid. You know why the Yankees lost? They couldn't pitch. Wright and Johnson are not going to win you 'must have' games. They also lost because the whole lineup disappeared. Giambi hit .125, Damon hit .235, Cano hit .133, Matsui hit .250, Sheffield hit .083, and Bernie and Melky went a combined 0-6. A-Rod could have hit .700, it still doesn't make up for the rest of them. The Yankees were beat by a team that was more prepared, had more intesity and was quite simply better built for the playoffs. Trading A-Rod is not going to help any of those other guys get a hit in a big spot, and it's not going to change the fact that Jaret Wright is not David Cone, and Randy Johnson is not Andy Pettitte.
  3. Whoa. The Sabres are the best team in hockey, by a mile. Just whoa.
  4. http://www.lab1663.net/images/retard.jpg The only way I move A-Rod is if I'm getting Carlos Zambrano and Aramis Ramirez. And there is absolutely no way the Cubs will do that, so I do not trade A-Rod.
  5. The Ranger defense has been disgusting. They need Kasparaitis back in the worst way. They run around like chickens with their heads cut off back there, and then stand still with people open in the slot. The Sabres had about 94 deflection goals, all because they got to stand freely in front of the net, or got 2 on 1's. Renney needs to get this team's act together, soon.
  6. The Tigers are now 7-1 in their last 8 games. If they were so inferior, the A's would have stolen a couple of games. Remember that the Twins were everyone's sleeper pick, and they took care of them quickly.
  7. Red Sox having the second highest payroll in baseball and finishing in third is a disgrace. You guys are like the Knicks. The Yankees losing to a team with much better pitching is not all that unexpected. Nobody knew how good their pitching was, and the Yankees were the odds on favorite. Guess what, Detroit is damn good. Ask Oakland. They're playing like the team that was 40 games over .500 in the summer. I'm surprised that they were able to turn it on, but I'm not surprised that once they did they've been unbeatable. And this series was decided on pitching. Jaret Wright starting a must win game is not a position you want to be in.
  8. I would absolutely make a run at this kid. He can't turn out any worse than Pavano did, and could turn out a whole lot better. Pay the money, get this kid.
  9. Pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching, pitching. The offense is fine, but they need to take pressure off of it. It is tough to win when you're depending upon a 3 run homer, especially in the playoffs. Seriously explore Zito, Matsuzaka, Schmidt and Pettitte. We need a big game pitcher, not Jaret Wright.
  10. A-Rod needs to get his s*** together. Jeter giving him a hug isn't going to teach him to hit a fastball. Jeter hit .500 for the series, I'm not pinning this on him. If Andy Pettitte starts game 4, they play a game 5.
  11. WOULD YOU LIKE THE SOX TO TRADE MANNY FOR SANTANA?!?! HOW ABOUT PUJOLS? WOULD YOU DO IT, WOULD YOU??!
  12. Meanwhile, Brendan Shanahan had immediate dividends. Rangers are looking damn good right now.
  13. Build a pitching staff, quickly. Try like hell to get some value for Manny Ramirez. I really don't think he wants to be there anymore. Find a closer.
  14. So you enjoyed teams being able to neutralize talent by holding them? It's a work in progress, but it is moving in the right direction. The best players should be allowed to play, and not slowed by untalented guys who know how to grab a jersey.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=260531106 Mussina's Line- 9.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 Ks, 105 Pitches
  16. I knew right away they left Manning way too much time to run his offense. Zero pressure, and an absolutely ridiculous cushion for his receivers. You can't give Manning 15 yard sideline routes every play with 2 minutes left and expect to hang on. At least they can compete against these teams. Maybe they can knock off the Jags next week, because the three weeks after that they face the Dolphins, Lions and Browns.
  17. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=ArSh6pJw.BctzkBrjhhaltwRvLYF?slug=ap-marlins-girardi&prov=ap&type=lgns An absolute disgrace. Hopefully he wins manager of the year, so he can shove it in Loria's face. It sends a message to the players that he's more concerned with his ego than the team winning. I doubt they will respond well to that in '07.
  18. I like A-Rod batting 6th in Game 1. If he hit into a double play in the first inning of a 0-0 game, they'd start on him again. Batting 6th that won't be an issue. Good move by Torre. I'm ridiculously superstitious, especially this year. Not predicting s***.
  19. Ah that blows. I tied the championship game. Damnit.
  20. We also didn't trade anything for our Marlin. Nor did we depend upon him this year. We won the division without him. Without a good Beckett the Sox were a third place baseball team. Randy Johnson had a 5.00 ERA this year, Beckett had a 5.01. Johnson had more strikeouts, fewer walks and a better WHIP. I'm not saying he had a good year, but better than your Marlin.
  21. You'll have to change your signature if the Cardinals don't win the Central. What the hell is going on over there?
  22. Villone's been worse. 2.27 Pre All Star ERA 8.42 Post All Star ERA The numbers get even uglier after that.
  23. As long as we're clear that it's pretty childish behavior, then it's cool by me. As long as it isn't made out to be one side is right and the other is wrong, then it's fine. RISP and RISP 2 outs is a pretty fair assessment of "when it counts" and Jeter not only steps up his game in those situations, he goes above and beyond even what Ortiz does, who is no slouch in those spots.
  24. I watched the press conference, I buy his excuse. The publicist however, I think was full of s***. I sincerely doubt the Police Report was full of lies.
  25. For whatever reason, I think Clemens would rather pitch in Boston in 2007 as opposed to the Bronx. Personally, I'd like to see #46 come back to the Bronx for another playoff run. I trust him about 900x more than Randy Johnson.
