  1. Hey redsoxrooter, welcome to our little community here. How are things?
  2. Hanley Ramirez: a bust? I've heard he isnt doing too well down there, hitting only for a mediocre average and such. Can you give us an update on his status, and maybe how you think he'll turn out judging how some other players have looked at similar points in their careers? Lol, I know its a lot to ask, but hey, you're the expert.
  3. No, its beautiful weather for Pedro tonight. Looking forward to the first baseball game in AGES!
  4. I accidentally nullfied my vote, but I found it through a bdd link.
  5. But how can you ignore him? All I heard about last year was the whole "Bennifer" thing (a clever name by the way, I wodner who thought of it?). I guess he's fading away, but I wouldnt want him hosting a charity event that I attended. Just my two cents.
  6. Back to the topic at hand though, they won last night in double OT. Now its only one more to advance. Woohoo! Go B's!
  7. Yup, as mcgilla just pointed out, Johnson is on the decline. I'm extremely happy that we ended up with schilling, the better of the two D-Back aces.
  8. Eh, I dunno about that. Here's the forcast: http://www.weather.com/weather/detail/02468 It says showers and cold weather. Not great for a baseball game.
  9. I, too, use Baseball Reference. Theres so much info on that site, you wouldnt expect it at all.
  10. Seeing as how no one is replying to this........ its a shame that the game was rained out. Makes for an interesting matchup against MFY in the near future though.
  11. No, im not saying raising money is bad. Thats all well and good. but Ben Affleck constantly being portrayed as this long-suffering Red Sox fan has got to go. I just dont like him representing me to the entire world, especially in any movie with J-Blo in it.
  12. Please continue to ruin the sox fans' good names by "speaking for us" Ben! http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bo...s_bos&fext=.jsp I get sooooo pissed at him every time I see him on TV freaking out at Steinbrenner. He makes us all seem like little whiny bitches who cant figure out whats a good movie or not.
  13. Personally, I like "major league" beacuse I'm more of a comedy type of guy. Sure field of dreams and bull durham were good, but I like to laugh. "No way! Too high!"
  14. AhA! I never knew what it meant either. Thank you for posting that. Now I have to brush up on my French though....
  15. Lol, thats what steroids'll do to ya.
  16. I look forward to Pedro silencing the sure-to-be-obnoxious yankee stadium crowd next week. Should be fun.
  17. That's sweet that you saw Theo yeszir, but it sucks that its a blurry picture. Oh well, what can you do?
  18. Yes, it gives us more chances for winning, and it also allows Pedro to face the yanks in the upcoming series at New York. I believe its during the last game of the season, if everything goes according to plan. Needless to say, it should be interesting.
  19. Boooo Arod. But post. We like arguments. (or at least I think we do, I'm pretty new here myself).
  20. Finally, its about time. He went FOREVER (by his standards) without one. I bet he starts up the pace, now that the milestone is out of the way. (well, one more to go for it to be fully out of the way).
  21. Do we start our own http://www.talksox.com petition?
  22. DC has 570,000 people. I dont think that is enough to support two baseball teams within a 50 mile radius. Baltimore, for the record, has 650,000 (or around there). Given how the team has fared in attendance recently, no way can another team be supported. Think about it. Virginia/Maryland and two baseball teams dont mix.
  23. This guy couldn't even succeed at AA at the rate he's pitching. 6 straight walks! Its unbelievable, something needs to be done about him.
  24. Ugh. If bringing up Castillo means I never have to see Bobby Jones pitch again, I'm glad they sent Dauber down.
  25. You really cant ask for more than what the sox gave us just now. They rallied big time to end up tying to score in the 9th, and hopefully they can put it away in the 10th or later on if need be. Plus Crespo came up big with that double, maybe the most unlikely of candidates for that seeing as hoe he has only 2 hits all season, both coming yesterday.
