  1. John Henry Williams is such an jerk. He also sucks at baseball, which he proved when he failed in his gift minors appearance.
  2. This has been a frustrating game. Just when I thought Arroyo was finding his groove again, he gets lit up. Coors field sucks.
  3. For fear of excommunication, I say this half jokingly. The Yankees fans have a point, however, and that is that our beloved Sox haven't done anthing in a looooooooong time.
  4. Nomo has been downright terrible this year. (My Fantasy Baseball Team's ERA is proof enough.) Hopefully he can get back on track, BUT PLEASE WAIT UNTIL AFTER TODAY'S GAME!
  5. In a Kansas City paper recently, they ran an article about Beltran's likely trading. Next to the picture they put the logo of every team interested in him. And underr all of this, they had a picture of him wearing a RED SOX HAT. I'd like to trust the Kansas City paper on this matter.
  6. This is what is so frusterating about Lowe (and even Pedro, but to a lesser extent). We have seen how dominant he can be. He can be so good on some days that you just think to yourself "Damn, we can't let this guy go!" I think that the one positive we can take out of this season is that we might be able to get him for cheaper next year. But I still think he has Ace material.
  7. We all knew that the Yankees would get hot sooner or later, but I didn't think they'd be this good. Hopefully, that these two injuries coupled with the returns of our injured stars can cause another shift at the top of the American League East. Also, this is no new story for Brown. The Yankees had to expect that he'd be injured at one point in the season.
  8. I think Youkilis have warranted the third base job...if we didn't have a batting champion coming back. If Mueller continues to struggle like he had been before his injury, I'm pretty sure Youky could get his job back. However, with both of them playing to their potentials (actually with Mueller playing to his potential because I don't know about Youky's ceiling), I think Mueller will help us more down the road.
  9. In order for Hockey to be saved they need to do something like NFL does. They need a powerful players union but also some stricter salary constrictions so some players don't make so much more than others. Also, Hockey players don't get paid for playoffs which is bad.
  10. I love Nomar (see my screenname for proof). I'm so happy he's back and swinging the bat well.
  11. I agree about Andy Domanique and Millar, but I think Pokey is best used as a super utility player because he is so fast and plays great defense. Bellhorn's offensive numbers are very impressive, and he is one of our most disciplined hitters. I say, until he hurts us in the field or slumps badly, let him start.
  12. I would love to see Eric Gagne pitch in person. I think he's the single most dominating pitcher since Nolan Ryan.
  13. I almost had tickets for this one. Ouch...
  14. Very impressed by Pedro's start, especially the fastball. A lot of people say he can get by on just his offspeed, but having a 93 mph fastball makes his changeup so much better than the 88 mph fastball. Also, he has struggled with his command of his fastball and curveball, but they were both great today. About next year, if Pedro proves this effective and dominant for most of the season and stays healthy, I have no problem giving him whatever he wants for however long.
  15. I agree, Hockey is pretty much dead. It's a shame, because it is the toughest sport to play and probably one of the most exciting to watch live. It's just boring to follow and boring to watch on TV.
  16. I'm glad Nomar is taking it slow. I don't think that they'd want to risk another injury.
  17. I'd have to vote for Coco Crisp...
  18. Yeah Nomar coming back would be a great boost to the club. If yesterday's win against the Royal, with all its excitement, isn't enough to get the team rolling again, hopefully Nomar can be a shot in the arm for the team. I predict a reasonably easy victory for the Sox, maybe 6 - 2.
  19. Also, one of the runs should have been unearned. Don't know why it wasn't but it could have been.
  20. Yeah you're right. I would have put Ortiz in for McCartey, but that's why Frank is managing and not me.
  21. Nice poke by Pokey, that collision seem's to really have swung the momentum in our favor.
  22. That was the craziest thing I've ever seen. It didn't look like the ball came out, just that the arm of Harvey hit Grimesley's face and the ball fell. Anyhow, that was crazy.
  23. Come on Terry, pinch hit Ortiz for McCartey.
  24. Fugly inning, but we only gave up one. Lowe's pitched pretty well today, hope its a stepping stone.
  25. Needed to change because the Yankees are winning.
