  1. I really liked what I saw on Sunday, it looked like they were pulling through. However, Lowe stunk up the joint yesterday and after scoring four early runs we looked dead. I hope we can pull it together and I thought we had it but maybe not. We'll see.
  2. I was actually at this game. Very exciting, and it was cool to be part of the biggest crowd EVER at Turner Field. Proof once again that Sox fans are the best in the world. Also, there was a fireworks display after the game that was very impressive. God bless America.
  3. Why not give him a chance, see if he makes adjustments and see if Papa Jack can fix his swing a bit. Anyone who is doing this well down on the farm can't be that bad.
  4. I have to disagree with everyone saying Francona is our problem. Our players just aren't performing. Mueller hasn't done anything because of injury. Millar has been aweful. Our bullpen has struggled recently. And Nomar, who has been my favorite player for years, has flat out sucked. It's not the manager that's the problem, it's the players. Also, our pitching other than Schill hasn't been too good recently either. Other than Manny, Schilling, Foulke, and Ortiz, no one is doing as well as they did last year, which was probably our peak.
  5. He's been having a great year so far. Especially since he's from Billerica, I would love to see him playing for us. I hate rent-a-players, though, so I hope we'd keep him for a few years.
  6. With all of the positives of the game, I have to say the best part of the game was watching Nomar make his trademark spinning sidearm throw to nail a runner. It was a great victory all around.
  7. This homeplate umpire is looking very questionable. That called third strike against Bellhorn was terrible. His zone looks like ankles to chin.
  8. Good news: Pedro pitched to Bonds and got him out. Bad news: He hasn't retired anyone else. 4 - 0 already and we're not through the first.
  9. Prior to this bad start, Manny had less than a 4.50 ERA. I hope he can rebound from this start and live up to his expectations.
  10. Wow Mirabelli has already made 5 bad plays in this innings. He should have thrown out at least one of those runners, two passed balls (or wild pitches but he should have caught them), and that play at the plate was pathetic. And Wakefield's looking great too, so that's even more frusterating. Also, I am not a fan of walking Bonds in the first inning. Just because first is open, doesn't mean he has to be put on.
  11. How could he check into Spring Training two inches taller? I really don't understand.
  12. Bonds is 0 for 9 in career against Wake.
  13. The league has been drafted. Sorry about the early drafting, we didn't realize Yahoo's draft ended so soon. Next year we will hold a full-fledged league with as many teams as possible.
  14. Very impressive. What kind of pitches does he throw?

  16. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/images/mannydelcarmen.jpg source: http://www.soxprospects.com/players/delcarmen-manny.htm He would be a great story if he makes it. Has looked impressive so far for Sarasota.
  17. I hope you're right, we could sure use a homegrown ace.
  18. Nomar's defense has been very shaky. I'm sure he just needs to iron out some kinks from not playing, but he's making bad throws, misplaying grounders, and not getting to some balls that are nomarlly his trademark.
  19. This is what I think I'll do, but there is nothing worse than having a complete game shutout (or just a great start) on the bench.
  20. Is he really this good? We're talking 20 game winners. I think this might be too much optimism for a pitcher with mediocre stuff.
  21. In my league, we have a minimum innings rule that I foolishly overlooked. My team is very strong, it's in third after a terrible start that had me in last for a month, but I'm on pace to overshoot the maximum innings by 45. The question is, who do I not start. I have Randy Johnson, who would have to start pitching righty to get benched, but the rest are all questionable. Maddux has pitched great recently. Oswalt has struggled but he's a great pitcher. Jerome Williams and Kelvim Escobar have had great months but neither is amazing. And Joel Piniero and AJ Burnett have struggled but have great upsides. I have been trying to package two starters for a better starter, but to no avail. What should I do?
  22. First game back, hits a Homerun. Very impressive.
  23. I love it.
  24. It's very impressive to hear the "Yooooooooo" chant after Youky gets a single in COLORADO. That's proof that we Sox fans are the best fans in the game.
  25. Curt's looking shaky tonight, his velocity is down. I hope this isn't a result of his ankle injury, but it's looking pretty negative. We're only down one though, on the bright side.
