Yesterday I pulled a 1B mitt out of my closet , given direct to me by Pete Runnels , and a bat from Nellie Fox, when both were on the Houston  olt .45s in 1964.

That's really cool. Runnels was a very good hitter and Fox was a very good defensive 2nd baseman. I also admired Fox's teammate Luis Aparicio at SS. He later played for the Sox.

Other players I was with at .45s ST included Rusty Staub, Jerry Grote, John Bateman, Jimmy Wynn, Ken Aspromate, Jimmy Wynn , Hal Brown, Walt Williams. Eddie Kasko. Leon Wagner.
