It's also the BABIP.  He had a career .340 coming into this year, and now a .245.  If he had a .300 BABIP, which I'd have expected, his OPS would be .714.  Nothing special, but with good speed and defense, that would be fine.

Somewhere along the line Bello got afraid of throwing strikes because he was getting hit by them, so he shied away.  Hence the first inning yips, but not today
