It's a free-for-all on who makes the playoffs. Just because we suck, doesn't mean we are out of the playoff hunt.

Please don't tell me the rosters on the other 12 AL teams impress you. You are smarter than that.

I pay much more attention to performance than who’s on the roster. Even good rosters don’t perform well sometimes although generally the more talented the roster the performance. 
We are a bottom dweller, one of the worst teams in baseball. We don’t have the talent to significantly improve because our GM is incompetent and our owner is a cheapskate. However bad most other teams are we are performing worse. And it’s unlikely to get much better.

Yes, I wasnt trying to take Freds position that our playoff chances are 0%.  That stuff is easily googleable and the model has us at like 27%.   I was just trying to point out the humor that not only are we near the bottom of the AL, but we are near the bottom of a hilariously week AL.  So we double suck.

But I agree with everything here.

I never said our chances were zero. They aren’t zero until we are mathematically eliminated. But they certainly are slim.

Sounds good.

To be in last place when the league sucks this bad is "doubly" sucky.

Our strength of schedule must be about middle tier, so there are no excuses to how badly we suck.

I guess Fred thinks two teams with -41 run differentials (HOU & BAL) are better than us on paper. The Athletics at -25 is too. MIN at -13 just killed us, so at least they have a case to be made.

I'm just not sure some realize just how bad so many other teams are. Again, it's no solace to the fact that we doubly suck.
