What did Lawson have to do with any of those k's??? He was in POR and WOO.

You're right.  I may be reaching.  What I'm really wondering about is the Red Sox "organizational philosophy" about hitting and how Lawson fits into it-they clearly think he's a perfect fit.

I believe they are high on driveline driven stats like exit velo, but it depends on the player. The one thing I heard is that they give each player specific goals. For example, Kristian Campbell hadn't tapped into power but was already a decent contact hitter who made good swing decisions. They wanted him to unleash some of that power potential. It worked out. For other guys, it may be working on those swing decisions because swinging at the wrong pitches is causing them to make weak contact or no contact at all.

He is one guy out of many. I'm not sure what they like about him, and he did not seem to have success with the Yanks, but I'm not sure anyone can be judged by just one thing like that.

Like you, I have my doubts and wonders about him, but I'm not sure he's such an important guy in the whole scheme of things.

He's in the inner circle of our hitting coaching now.  If they fire Fatse I suspect he's the replacement.

Just have to watch and see if our approach gets better next year.  Way too many Ks this year.

He's also just one of two assistant hitting coaches. Maybe he shouldn't be the main guy, but can be a successful assistant?

If it doesn't get better, don't blame the assistant coaches IMO.

I just don't think any of us know more about these inner circle guys to have a strong opinion on one of them.

Yes, say the whole group has been awful for a while, but changes heave been made, up and down, and it takes time to see results.

Too bad, we've already waited long enough, already.
