If Story was just an average defensive SS, I'd really go off on him.

Story is approaching 162 games played. Now that's an Iron Man. What's that? The 162 games is for 3 seasons? Nevermind.

And this is where the bullpen turns a close game into a blowout, negating the need for the runs the Sox will score later…

I'm impressed that all of you have been watching this bullpen all season and are still here, talking baseball.

Pen was always going to be the death of the 2024 Sox. Not all that impressed with the rotation either regardless of the hot start.

Homer Crawford was much more responsible for the loss than the BP. Homer, 4.1 innings, 4 runs. BP, 3.2 innings, 1 run.

Depending on Story staying off the IL for 2025 is madness.

Heard OB say the other day "If story can play 140 games". He then went on to build a 2025 around that. Madness.....Madness

Most teams in the SOX position will try to rebuild; the SOX, instead, try to rehab.

Crawford need to solve the HR issue, if he is going to be  a successful SP'er, going forward.

I'd prefer him in the pen for 2025, as the co-long man with Whitlock, but I fully realize that ain't happenin'.

FFS Crawford has given up the most HRs in MLB with 31, in 2024..

maybe he’s just not a SP ……

If you like HR's buy a season ticket to Crawfish started games and you won't be disappointed.    It is one thing to be a little off but another thing to lead a league in certain categories.

We tend to discount W-L records as being not indicative of  a pitcher's true worth or ability.  But one indisputable fact is that an "L"  means that pitcher was responsible for the run scored that  put his team behind, from which they never recovered to tie or take the lead.

Crawford's 14 losses ( soon to be 15) and the 33 Hr's in 31 starts cannot be fully overlooked as a less than stellar season.

A  loss in the BP is worse because it generally means that  the pitcher came in with the score tied or his team ahead and let the opponent recover and win, usually after the 5th/6th inning

Crawford had actually been pitching well lately.  I. His last 5 starts he had a 3.68 ERA and the opposing OPSA of .654.  He did go 0-5 in those starts due to run support issues.

Barring a trade, Crawford will be in the Sox rotation next year.  And if he builds up a little more stamina, he should be a little better…

I’ll be happy if they put Whitlock and Fulmer in the bullpen.  Expecting  all three in the bullpen is crazy, even if Henry spends again…

You are assuming both Whit & Fulmer are healthy.

I could also see Whit used in short relief, but more often.

I keep it PG on here, but you don’t want to know what I say in the group chat to my friends about some of these guys. As a die hard fan, it’s brutal
