Now, the team needs to sweep the Rockies in an HR park to even up the trip. These first 10 games ( 67 down to 57 to go) could be a mess if they don't turn it around. maybe, Tanner Houck can pitch again

I don't know or care if Cora stays or goes, but I wouldn't be sad if V-Tek is the next manager, just for a change.

Whether V-Tek wants the job is another story.

You're blaming this on Cora????!!!!! Varitek is a fat slob who sits on the bench the entire game and brings nothing to this Sox team. I'm not saying he wasn't a good catcher because he was--except when it came to catching Wakefield. For that, the Sox had to have Mirabelli.

Meh? Don't you realize that Devers would be the 4th best player on the Dodgers.

Instead of the 2 or 3rd best on the Sox ?

Not really. I want this team to be competitive as much as anyone here but they really aren’t a good team this year. Or last. Or the year before that.

It’s getting very very old.

You absolutely do not want this team to be competitive. In fact, your biggest disappointment this season was when the Sox went 11 games above .500 right before the ASG break. You want a big payroll and big names in the lineup.

Don't lose sight of the fact that Boston is still playing a number of guys who probably should still be in Worcester, including Abreu, Westbrook, even Hamilton. If Story stayed upright, Grissom was a real player and Casas was healthy, then this team would present a little differently.

Martin, Slaten, Giolito, Whitlock , Slaten in an ideal world would be pitching

The Dodgers likely have three players bound for Cooperstown…

I'm being disingenuous of course. I was quite happy with the big payrolls of yesteryear, to say nothing of the 4 WS wins after the 86 year drought.

On the other hand, I also understand JH's frustration when the 2019 Sox had the biggest payroll in MLB and didn't make the playoffs. Plus, to make matters worse, DD wanted a bunch more money to keep Mookie and replace Price and Sale while continuing to pay them huge sums to do nothing. That's when he brought in Chaim Bloom, who didn't fare too well with the new budget (which remains a mystery).

Breslow stepped in and sent Sale packing to the Braves while paying $17M of his 2024 salary and brought in Giolito @ $19M x 2 seasons--and who has yet to throw a Sox pitch in anger. Talk about a horrible start! But he also brought in pitching coach Bailey, who has been terrific.

A Bailey Horn sighting!!!! That’s rarer than seeing Bigfoot playing footsy with the Loch Ness Monster!!

Now why this rare even couldn’t have happened in the 10th inning last night is a mystery that will never be solved…

Probably 4, if you include Kershaw.

I did include him.

I figure Kershaw (75.8 fWAR), Freeman (60.5 fWAR) and Betts (58.5 fWAR) are all locks. Not sure anyone else measures up…

Bigfoot playing footsy with the Loch Ness Monster. I believe, Notin, that you've just given Universal an idea for next summer's big blockbuster.

Pretty funny Max

At least you have a sense of humor.

I ALWAYS want what’s best for the team to be competitive. Sometimes that means winning as much as possible or buying at the deadline to address our needs. And sometimes it means losing every game to improve our draft position and selling pieces to become competitive in a few years.

This year is the latter. You aren’t a real fan Max unless you always want what’s best for the team. You obviously don’t.

Don't know why the SOX got rid of Paxton. Oh, now I remember. He sucked.

First , he was injured/recovering, then he sucked

On youtube earlier they did a video on the worst trades ever. One that was included was the Bagwell for Anderson trade. I've got to wonder where the current SOX trade of Sale to Atlanta for whatever his name is, oh yeah, Grissom, stacks up as the worst trade ever?

Geez, my wife takes me out for my birthday dinner with the Sox ahead 2-0 and I had to come home to this. I shoulda had dessert.

Not even worst 5 on just a Sox list.

Try and have a nice BD, anyway.

Abreu, the natural born rally killer on a team full of them, excusing Duran and Wong. Wilyer couldn't have just K'ed again. Devers and O'Neil combined for 5K's in 7 AB's

I think HBP should be a 2 base award to compensate for the pain and risk of broken anythings

I think a lawsuit wouldn't be out of the question. Pain & suffering usually goes over well in court.
