Would not be a Sox game if they were not playing from behind. Just rare for the Sox to jump out to a lead.

This is what Houck sometimes does. He stops throwing the sharp breaking stuff and at the same time starting throwing toward the middle of the strike zone.

Works for both teams. Last night the Sox had 2 dingers.

They track every home run hit. Devers hit his homer over 400 feet.. and Kikes homer was gone in every park in mlb…

Enrique Hernandez vs Albert Abreu

Home Run (6)

Exit velo: 104.3 mph

Launch angle: 36 deg

Proj. distance: 391 ft

No doubt about that one

That's a dinger in all 30 MLB ballparks

What have I missed?

Houck terrific first time through the Yankees order, not so terrific the second time. Same old, same old.

Well done, Houck!! Threw some good pitches and got rewarded with the GIDP--which was also a nice round the horn (Devers to Arroyo to Casas) by the Sox infield. Fox guys say Volpe, the guy going to 1st, is fast.

That idiot, Devers. He swung on a freaking first pitch that was at the very top of the zone and could have been called a ball. But we'll never know now. I hope Cora fines him for reckless swinging of the bat. Devers needs to learn patience at the plate.

Devers is actually a hitter , working his way back and exceeding warning track power. An essential hit behind Houck.

Now, see, Casas shows some patience. That's how it's done. Devers take note of how intelligent Casas is at the plate.

German does not watch base runners

Nor does Jansen. Well, I did see him glance over at a guy on 1st base during a conference on the mound.

The problem with McGuire making the last out is that Kike in the 9 slot becomes the leadoff batter, but I have a feeling he may have the big bat out and ready next inning.

If one of our own pitchers let the baserunners go like German has done, the would probably be called out on TalkSox
