3 run lead with 9 outs to go, Kluber pitching. Sure hope he gets 6 with 0 runs allowed, so Jansen can finish it. Win the game you're in now

Most terrifying thing I have read today

Cora has done well with who he has sent to the mound today and for how long.

Nice plays by Turner and Winck. I like Casas better for fielding throws in the dirt, but definitely prefer Turner on grounders and on throws to the pitcher covering first.

Winck gives up 3 hits , a run, and a line drive shot that would have scored 2 more. Yoshi made a play on it fortunately

Yoshi ain't fast, but he knows what he's doing.

Dugo's also a pretty good hitter.

I k now it has been discussed on this board a little , and the thinking is it might still be premature to extend Dugo. My question is who do they have coming behind him that would replace him ? I realize they still have another year of control, but I have come to think he is a keeper. Like Duran, seems to have improved his overall professionalism considerably.

Dugo, imho, should definitely be extended, asap. He plays a very good RF, he's got a good arm and he can hit. What's not too like?

Martin does the job!! For my money, send him back out for the 9th. (Dream on, dipstick.)

Nope. They won't. If he pitches 1 inning now with few pitches, he can pitch in game 2. If he pitches 2 innings, he wouldn't pitch in game 2. Jansen can go one inning in each game if necessary.

Left field in Fenway will make player out of a slow OF'er. Williams, Yaz, Rice, Manny, etc . couldn't run real well but made a living out there. Carl Crawford was probably the only LF'er that could run.....right out of town

RF turned out to be perfect for him, as we saw last year. Plus he can hit. A keeper.

Yes, yes, yes.

Agree. Yoshida is a good fit in LF. And slow on the bases. But also a very professional hitter.

Kenley was paid the bucks to be the closer and that's what he'll do. Martin was paid the bucks to be the set-up guy and that's what he'll do. Baseball's such a simple game.

I have Yoshida on my fantasy team so I will take the base hit but, come on, that was an error. Major league scorekeepers are a joke.

No. They are just trying to spread a little happiness around to both hitters and fielders.

Speaking of LF at Fenway, from 1939-1989 the SOX had 3 left fielders.

50 years of HoF left fielders and big time hitters

You and Tedballgame are both right, of course. I wanted Martin because he was pitching well and I just want to win game 1. Game 2 is centuries away with its own dynamics. Plus Jansen makes me nervous.

Except right now, despite the double, he looks like the Jansen from early in the season.

Sox win, and I could not be happier that Cora sent the right guys out throughout this game.
