If this team implodes on this homestand i hope they sell! What’s the point of competing if you can’t even beat teams in your own division?

Robles in the game. Cora waiting the white flag

Robles must have something on Cora, or Bloom. I can’t think of any other reason he is still on the team.

All this doom, and gloom just because they are behind in this game.

I’ll agree with that.

Can they beat th teams in their division? This is supposed to be an important homestand for this team.

I’ll agree with that.

They’re competing with the rays, blue jays, and likely guardians or twins for the wildcard.

The Mariners should trail the Guardians by one game after tonight's game but needed a Red Sox win tonight to move within three games of the Rays for the final Wild Card berth.

I've mentioned this before that Story resembles Napoli so much at the plate it's scary.

Except that Story can run, you’re right. Streaky power hitter who K’s a ton and is really good on D.

Dalbec swings at ball 4 twice, but he gets so many close pitches called against him you can’t blame him.

Inability to catch up to the same speed fastball 8 times is a different story.

That should move Danish ahead of Robles in the SOX BP rankings.

Have to believe Robles is gone as soon as Whitlock is back. Heck, he may be gone tomorrow to make room for Bella.

Story's speed for the most part has been wasted because he doesn't need to run from HP to the dugout.

Do you think Dalbec would do better playing for a small market team where's there's less pressure?

He very well might. I don’t think he’s going to make it in Boston.

Chavis seems to have achieved at least a modest level of competence in Pittsburgh. OTOH, Middlebrooks never did much anywhere else either.

All I know is Bobby Dee has no confidence at the plate right now at all. He’s going up there hoping to not strike out and every close pitch seems to go against him.

At least the SOX got 3 RBI from their 3 & 4 batters tonight. That's been rare. Although 3 of those 3 RBI came from the 4 batter.

Bogey now has 34 RBI and JD has 33 RBI.

JD coming up small again with a chance to drive somebody in.

33 RBIs hitting out of the 3-4 hole all season. JBJ has 25 with 85 less plate appearances and batting 8-9 most of the time.
