When the SOX play Cleveland, it will be to their advantage to get some production from their 3 and 4 hitters.

When you compare his RBI to his BA, that makes total sense. When you compare JD's and Bogey's RBI to their BA's, it makes no sense.

Bloom made a concerted effort to improve the D in the OF and at 2B.

 

Nice to see some dividends being paid out.

I do like him on this team, realizing he is good not great. Actually a tough decision on renewing him since another GM may overrate him, like JDM, like Bogey in terms of long contract 6 yrs++ for multimillions.

To take more advantage of his great speed Duran has to lay down more bunts. Especially against LH's. Bunting is definitely a teachable part of the game. Too bad Remy is no longer with us; he was an excellent bunter and would have been a good teacher for Duran.

Duran's speed would make even not perfect bunts base hits. JBJ isn't in the same speed class as Duran.

Speaking of Duran, if he continues to shine, Bloom would have a nice trading chip with Kike.

Just a guess, but if Boston is in any of the wild card positions with any cushion, Cora and Bloom may want to stay with a veteran like Kike than the less experienced guy. If the wheels fall off in July, kike is a goner.

Gut check time to insure the series win . Nice thing about series wins is that you are likely playing at .667 pace which will get you to the October games that count.

The benefit of trading Kike is the SOX could get a decent reliever for him. The SOX won't get anything for Arroyo.
