Losses have become so much the norm that they seem a given: the basic conditions under which you follow the RS. So now that there is no expectation of winning, we can relax, kick back, and enjoy the way ownership is lining their pockets, without regard to success or (curiously) the satisfaction of customers.

So yeah, got to see a great throw by JBJ last night, a 4 K performance yesterday by a superstar, plus watching Ohtani. Life is good

10 days ago I booked a trip to Chicago to see this team play at Wrigley. Should still be a fun trip, right? It is Wrigley, and I've never been there before

Wrigley is pretty awesome as is the whole area around it. Can't say the same for the south side.

See you there.

(Probably not, but I’ll be there too.)

GR Field is actually a really nice ballpark. Sure you don’t hang around after games but it’s pretty easy to drive to and unlike Wrigley, they have actual parking…

I take the train to Wrigley when I visit.

I do, too. But I drive to GRF. So much easier getting out…

I've never been to GRF, the neighborhood around it is enough to keep me away.

Thanks for the tips. I'm staying downtown in a hotel on the lake. Flying in Friday afternoon, am going to buy tickets for Saturday and Sunday. Going all by myself because there are some things you just have to do

To some who paid to see this exercise in futility that throw by JBJ may have been worth the price of admission.

The other throw, the earlier one that simply had no chance, was just as good.

Harry Caray's Steakhouse is cool, at the bar you are below street level but the way the windows are set up all you see are legs walking by on the sidewalk, kinda like Houston's in mid town Manhattan. Great homemade potato chips to have with a cold beer. Wrigleyville has many cool places to barhop before and after the game. I haven't been in a while, but Chicago had some pretty good street festivals on the weekends. Last time I was there I enjoyed the River North Festival, live music, food and drinks.

I have always pulled for the Cubs in the N.L. I have never been to Chicago , but have watched them on T.V. many , many times. It seems like a great atmosphere at Wrigley, with the singing , banners and such. Happy, loyal fans having fun. It's a shame what the owner did to them at the deadline last year. It's going to take a while to rebuild.
