To be fair to Cora and he doesn’t deserve any fairness today .Do we think Chaim and Ownership are taking this season seriously ? I don’t .To not extend Devers and Xander I’m pissed off .

He pulls Valdez after 13 pitches and 4 outs to bring in Crawford for 50 pitches, 5 outs, 5 walks, and lots of runs.

The shortened spring training, I guess, made it difficult to evaluate the positives and negatives of some players.

 

While I agree spring training is definitely a time for evaluating--enough to decide who goes to Boston and who doesn't--I think the real evaluation has to be in games that count. And most of that applies to the pitching staff.

Plus , the teams were given two extras to further evaluate up to May 1. This season gets harder after that cutdown.

 

I personally think any MLB player getting a day off on a team with 4 bench players , including the 2nd catcher, better be ready to PH in the 7th-9th inning. This rest BS in April is not useful.

Travis Shaw was a bit of a feel good story late last year , but he is grossly overmatched here. Still without a hit and adds 3 noncompetitive K's today. Another Sox MIlB system graduate who almost made it into a nice career but ultimately fizzled. Lots of bodies in that pile since 2000
