Bring up Bazardo, Kelly and German and DFA/demote Brasier, Robles and Barnes…

Kelly is having a real hard time at AAA. Why should he do better in the bigs?

Sub Seabold for Kelly.

The pen has done better in 24 games.

The starters have done better in 20, counting 2 CG's where pen did not pitch..

They did about the same in 7 games.

The pen as done okay to well in 34 games.

The starters have done okay to well in 33 games.

I did not count the "pen game" 7-1 loss to the Rangers.

It feels like Hang’em Chaim is starting to shuffle the deck chairs around on the titanic, I mean the bullpen.

Brazier, Valdez and straim back on the roster and a couple of 1978 ford pintos to the dl.

We are up in Oakland 4-0 and then they bring in strahm for the 8th and he promptly tries to lose the game for us.

Dumpster fire bullpen continues!

Danish walked the first guy in the 8th, but yesm Strahm added some gas to the dumpster fire.

So now the plan is clear at last. Houck will be closer very soon. Took long enough, but it's the right move.

He pitched the 8th today in Oakland in a blow out.

Cora seems to be using scheibner as the designated fire fighter. How long until he ends up being over used?

I think Houck is going to ease into the fire fighter role.

Brazier gave up a run in the 9th today.

Going into the 9th with a 5 to 1 lead and seeing brazier on the mound is so scary and a 5 to 1 lead seems so fragile.

How is Cora not a raging alcoholic with this bullpen,

@redsoxstats

Dave Bush tells @jcmccaffrey that in a few weeks if Sale is throwing well they'll decide if they want to bring him back and finish his progression out of the bullpen, or if he will go through his full progression in the minors and return to the rotation around the all-star break.

I'm not against Sale pitching in the pen exclusively this season if everyone else stays healthy. Seems like you could ramp up Houck to start if you had to.

We might also have Paxton available, later on, if the need for a starter arises.

I kinda like the idea of using Sale in the pen, this year, but I fear he might overthrow and just make things worse.

Most people who follow the Sox know that the bullpen has been the major problem area . Starting pitching has been pretty good. Your unofficial scorecard lacks credibility. Right off the bat on opening day , Sox had the lead in the 8th inning and blew it. Had the lead again in the 10th and blew it . Lost in the 11th. The Yankee bullpen clearly out pitched the Sox bullpen. Yet , you say they did well . Credibility gone.

He only said the Sox relievers did better than the Sox starter that game.

Houck looked a bit shaky in his save opportunity. Gave up a hit and a scorcher that story caught.

But I was happy he had a successful first save chance.
