Saw the post game show . Boone was getting pretty testy with the reporters. Definitely feeling the heat.

Boone knows he’s managing for his job. Great managers make it through this and right the ship.

Boone has never been a great manager.

Never been a great strategic manager, but he’s been able to motivate the team to the PO’s every single year. This year will be his toughest task as the team has gone into complete and utter failure

When is Stanton back?

Motivate them to do what? Drop out of the post season early?

Yanks under/over for runs per me is 1.5. I’m taking the under. Cortes is gonna throw 7 strong innings, 2ER. Boone will go to the newly promoted Bard who will allow 2 more and Yanks will lose 4-1

f*** you Boone. We have a lead late for the first time in a long time and you go with the struggling Loaisiga who promptly puts two guys on then he goes to the reliable Peralta. f*** you

It’s what we did early in the year. Clutch hitting when we needed it the most. We are better than this but maybe not as good as we were for 4 months. Scherzer and Degrom coming up, so not out of the woods yet

Since starting out 50-17 (.746), Yankees are 24-31 (.436).

The biggest lead over second place this year was 15.5 games. Sox fans will tell you just one game less isn’t safe…

He is, no doubt. So is Sears with Oakland. If Montas turns out to be another Sonny Gray, then this will be a huge problem

But right now we have starting pitching in spades. Cole, Cortes, Montas, Taillon, and German right now. Sevy in the wings and Schmidt just called up. And right now our lineup needs the most help. With Aaron Hicks literally looking like he should retire and Marwin Gonzalez being pressed into regular OF duty, Bader is going to be sorely needed. That defense will be stellar. Judge in RF, Beni in LF and Bader in CF? Yikes. And we need his bat, even if he’s in the midst of a down season.

Agreed. But in this game sometimes the opposite of what should happen happens.

Like I was saying. German outpitches Scherzer.

I'm a Yankee fan and I have to say you are delusional. Cole spits the bit way too often, Cortes has been fantastic, Montas sucks outside of oakland and his 5.00++ ERA backs that up, Taillon is very inconsistent and has an ERA close to 5.00 over his last 15 games, German is, well, German and there's almost ZERO starter depth behind that.

Cole is still an ace. Montas looked good today. I think you forget how good Sevy was before he got hurt. Taillon has been struggling, but he’s prone to go on runs. German has been really good since the trade. Cortes has arguably been our best pitcher. Schmidt has the highest ceiling of any of the guys we dealt or have in the minors.

f***ing stupid managing. Schmidt was dancing around the fact that he didn’t have a put away pitch and instead he waits til the f***ing winning run is on base to pull him. He’s such a moron

3 straight great starts, some timely hitting and some much needed exhalation for the Yanks. Day off and heading to jOakland, the worst team in the AL and we get Stanton back. Stanton was sorely missed, even if he’s not a world beater this year. He extends the lineup and should pay dividends for the 6-9 spots in the lineup. Montas looked like Montas last night. Schmidt was impressive in that he didn’t have his best stuff and avoided runs, but Boone really left him out there too long.

We also may be getting Britton back soon and Bader is now performing baseball activities. Update on Carpenter is problematic in that he’s still non weight bearing. We’ve likely seen the last of him this year.

In other news, Michael King isn’t out of the woods yet. His injury is a potential career altering injury. He’s had TJS and the bone broke. They said that they’re “not sure” he needs TJS yet. That tells me he probably does, but you can’t do TJS on a broken arm. So he needs 12 weeks and then they can potentially fix the ligament. Also, a fracture there without true trauma is ominous. Jarrod Parker had this issue. Multiple TJS’s and then the bone broke ending his promising career. Here’s to hoping he can get back to it, but I have my doubts

Sorry to hear that about King.
