Guess they need a couple of relievers at the deadline now

What they need to do is stop babying their kids. If you’re rolling with German and Sears to cover Sevy while he’s out then bring up Waldichuk and Schmidt to pitch middle relief.

I think Schmidt would already be up if the MLB didn't impose a limit on the amount of times a player can be recalled in a year. I don't remember the exact number, but once a player reaches it he gets exposed to waivers.

The number is 10.

Yesterday, due to being down, he went with Greene, which backfired.

Boone tried to ride Cole a little longer, and it wasn’t like Cole got hammered. He had a ******** missed third strike call then a bloop double and a GB single. So be it. You cannot win them all.

One thing I will say from here on out, watch out for the Orioles. They’ve got a really good pen and a plucky offense that never quits

The Yankees bullpen is suddenly looking very dicey. That will happen when your expensive closer loses it and two of your horses go down for the season with injury.

...and wait until Holmes returns to his "suckiness."

And, in other news, water is wet.

Thanks for the deep insight, Captain Obvious

That remains to be seen, but pivetta already has!!

Schmidt just threw 3 shutout innings.

Marinaccio is back

Abreu has a 0.68ERA in 11 games with NY

Luetge has been solid

Peralta has been great.

Holmes has been the best reliever in baseball.

Sears has been awesome

They’ve got two incredibly talented AAA guys who are stretched out as starters on Wednesday and Waldichuk.

Right now, the Yanks are trying to keep options stretched out. As August rolls around and especially if Sevy comes back strong, we will likely have a whole new pecking order of dominant arms

I don't think King's injury was a big deal, he was due for a major regression anyway.

He would be the best pitcher on the sox.

He had zero command tonight.

It happens. He needs to do what he was doing early on. Aim down the middle and run it to the corner. Instead he seems to be trying to pinpoint the ball and the HR to Perez was thrown over the outside corner and ran to the center

Holmes is breaking down. 8 walks in 9 innings in July.

Blip on the radar. Holmes gets in trouble when he tries to "locate". When he came to NY last year, Blake told him to throw the ball down the middle every time. He did and the ball broke so much it was either on the corner or just off it. Yesterday, he tried placing it and it burned him. With the amount of movement he gets, he needs to avoid trying to be perfect because he will miss middle middle like he did. If he throws down the middle, the ball will end up down and nobody can lift that

Could it be a pitching slump?

Could his ERA be heading towards Pivettaland?

Let me know when his ERA gets north of 2.00, let alone anywhere near pivettaland of 4.50......

Joey Gallo's tenure with the Yankees is at an end. New York has reached an agreement to trade the struggling slugger to the Dodgers for L.A.'s No. 15 prospect, right-hander Clayton Beeter, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Tuesday.

Seems weird to me that the Dodgers would want him, considering that Gallo is a headcase and the LA market is just as big as NY

The Dodgers may be grasping at straws after losing out to San Diego on Soto. Gallo looks.like a guy who has lost all confidence in his ability to hit a baseball. But you never know. He does have power..And there is the old , " change of scenery " thing , etc.

While LA is a big market, the dodger fanbase is not rabid like the east coast. It's a lot let pressure from what I have read.
