Congratulations to Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines as the undefeated National Champs. Wins over Alabama, Ohio State and Washington. Well deserved. I do think that Georgia would have been a tougher opponent than Washington, but it takes nothing away from Michigan's great season.

I agree on GA. People complained about FSU missing out: I complained about GA.

My final Dozen:

1. MI

2. GA

3. WA

4. TX

5. AL

6. MO

7. OR

8. FSU

9. Ohio ST

10. Ole Miss

11. LSU

12. ND

Tough opening game at Texas A&M for Notre Dame. Inexperienced OL will be a big key not only in this game, but for the season. They already lost their projected starting LT for the season, which won’t help.

I’m very interested to see how Riley Leonard looks. He’s been projected a first round pick but injuries and Dukes lack of talent has lowered his stock. Big year for him and Notre Dame needs him healthy and locked in

I wasn't impressed by our QB play.

I really didn’t like the play calling either. Very predictable and conservative

Agreed. It's like they thought it was going to be easy.

I don’t think anyone thought on the ND team going in to A&M was going to be easy especially with that young, inexperienced line.  Not a great showing by the offense, but enough to come out with a win.

A&M @ Kyle Field is an incredibly tough matchup. It’s a solid win on the resume and the secondary is legit. Benjamin Morrison will be playing on Sundays next year and I have a feeling Xavier Watts will be too. Notre Dame should be favorites in every game the rest of the way.

However. I still need to see more from Leonard to have confidence in this team. He missed a lot of open throws and made questionable decisions all night. I will say though, he is tough and you won’t ever question his effort.

The D is legit, and good. Hopefully the O will improve game by game.

I don't think the issue was Leonard. I watched him closely last year when he was at Duke. If Freeman and the staff can open up the playbook for him, he'll be fine. I watched the entirety of the A&M game, and was very impressed by Notre Dame otherwise. That's a game they usually lose. I kept waiting for them to find a way to lose, like the Cowboys usually do in big games.

Leonard made some really bad throws- like way, way off the mark. It was one game, and he had pressure on him, a lot, so I'm giving him more time to show what he has, but I was not impressed, at all. I do think the play calling was overly conservative, but he was so wild, opening it up, more, might have led to interceptions... and a loss.

Speaking of teams that usually find a way to lose, how about LSU? That was fun to watch. I have been dealing with some very annoying Lousiana parish auditors/tax collectors all summer long, and for their sake, I was rooting against the Tigers.

ND could move up to #6 or 7, since they were the only top team to beat a tough opponent.

The ND schedule, this year, is easier than other years, so maybe this could be the season we finish in the top 2 or 3.

Just two tough games, left.

Don't sleep on that Georgia Tech game, either! Not sure what to make of them, or Florida State, until we get a bigger sample size of games, but their style of play looks legit. Not sure if they can compete with Notre Dame for 60 minutes, but that's what everybody said when they played FSU

This is not one of Notre Dame’s better teams, and how it ends up we’ll have to wait, and see. A softer schedule this year will be a big help, but I don’t see them running the table at any rate.

#3 Texas plays at #10 Michigan, so Notre Dame could move up a slot with a Michigan win.

Well a moon you did it again, which you have an uncanny ability to do time, and time again counting on a win before it happens, and then putting the old jinx on someone, and watching them lose. It’s not a gift, but a curse. I said a few days ago that this wasn’t one of Notre Dame’s better teams, and that was proven today, and I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last loss either. Notre Dame is not that good.🙈🤭

Riley Leonard does not look good. Disgustingly unacceptable loss

That was god-awful. I thought Leonard looked shaky in the first game. I don't see him leading us anywhere but downhill.

We finally have a season, where we have a relatively "easy" schedule, and it looks like it's the worst team we've had in years.

Sad day for domers.

Missing the playoffs with this schedule and the expanded college football playoff is unacceptable. It would be one thing to lose to a ranked team late in the season, But Northern Illinois? This team doesn’t deserve it.

I also heavily question the play calling. Why do they not give the ball to Jeremiyah Love more? Scouts rave about him and whenever he touches the ball, good things happen and he only has 28 total touches In 2 games.. he’s scored a touchdown in both games and averaging nearly 7 yards a carry but they don’t use him. I don’t get it

This could be the season that  Notre Dame finishes in the top 2, or 3? Wrong, wrong, and wrong again.🤭🙈

Or then again move down with a loss. Not surprised at all that ND lost.
