Two sinkers down the middle, and Bogey takes one and barely fouls the other off. And grounds out on the third. No wonder Valdez is unhittable.

12 consecutive scoreless innings by the Sox.

The SOX at bats are killing a lot of worms.

Yep. But that's what Valdez is throwing, stuff that breaks down and induces grounders.

Listen you wanna give credit to the pitcher that’s fine but i think the approach stinks today.

If the pitcher threw the 1st pitch underhand down the middle, Bogey would not swing.

It’s a combination of both. What is that now? 12 scoreless innings? That’s f***ing awful.

And they will continue to do as long as they keep trying to pull the ball. You have to think opposite field against that sinker. It’s no coincidence the closest thing the Sox have to a hit was Verdugo liner that was just foul to left.

Wonder whether Red Sox batters need to consider moving up a little in the batter's box and maybe choking up a bit to have a chance to hit the pitch on the barrel of the bat before the ball dips.

I did plenty of griping about the pitches Vazquez called last night, but tonight I have to say he has called an excellent game. Astros one run is off a slider well outside of the zone. In the 4th, Sale struck out Correa and Tucker with men on 1st and 2d. Great pitching and great pitch-calling.

Not a bad idea, but that's not the way the overwhelming majority of MLB hitters think.
