Of course it's a key. My point is that right now I'm afraid our starters, including Sale, can't win a game without massive hitting support to overcome whatever runs the bullpen will give up.

 

To me, it's not about getting the starter a win, but the more innings Sale can give us and keep us in the game, the better choices Cora has with his pen usage. (Who and for how long?)

If so, Cora should forfeit because everyone knows that the umps are the only factor in who wins a game. Certainly not the hitters, pitchers, fielders, baserunners, etc.

That could indeed prove to be the key to this ALCS. The Sox have demonstrated that can't win without good hitting--and scoring at least 6 runs.
