This is unfair, but I can't help it. Renfroe is a talented ballplayer, but, when I see him in the field or at bat, I keep thinking of the tune the Scarecrow sang in the Wizard of Oz--"If I only had a brain." At bat he just goes up there to swing a few times. In the field, he just loves to throw that ball. Sometimes he hits a dinger and sometimes he throws a guy out, but most of the time he just scares me because he has no focus.

8-9 are whiffers, then Altuve -- all righties. I'm thinking Braiser. But definitely Whitlock for the last two frames.

Not pitching Whitlock two innings. Just the 8th.

It's the 7th. Cora must be planning on Robles as closer (to let him regain his confidence?).

I just don’t get it. Brasier can’t get you a clean 7th inning?

He’s pitching Whitlock for two innings which is kind of ridiculous if you asked me. Game is still 6 runs.

Why is cora bringing in whitlock in the 7th? Really dude? These other guys can’t go in the 7th for you?

Whitlock is in there because he needs to face the Astros and now's as good a time as any. This isn't a 1 run game.

And it still feels like I'm watching with poisonous snakes slithering beneath my recliner...

Have to nail it down. Off day tomorrow.

I am not gonna do it not when you have the bottom of the order. Pitch him in the 8th. He threw 18 pitches. You need the guy down the stretch as well. It’s 6 runs. Not two runs.

I would have gone Brasier, Whitlock, Robles.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a 6 run game. If the SOX do improve the BP next season, we won't have as much drama as we've had this season. I believe we all love drama. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Btw, if you prefer comedy over drama, I would recommend you becoming an Orioles' fan.

I'm not sure about that. Playoff Cora uses a cast of dozens. He's had All-Star closers in each of his two Boston playoff years, only to abandon them for hotter arms or converted starters in the postseasons.

Not that they didn't deserve it...
