Ditto! Maybe some 9th inning magic? SEEN IT BEFORE

Sure have.. gotta get a few guys on. Make them have to make a few tough plays in the field. I’ll take a three run shot too. Ha!

Sale was thankful to be pulled--don't kid yourself. He was really struggling, plus Ottavino came in and did fine. Cora used his bullpen a ton against the Rays. How did that series turn out?

Just because it worked against Tampa doesn’t mean it will work against Houston. Some of these guys have thrown lots of pitches.

I saw what you did there; defending s***** chUMPIRING again. Nice try, MAX, but you're not gonna sneak that slow pitch crap past me, but keep trying. I like it.

I like the umps. Plus in this game, despite that somewhat egregious K of JDM, I think the calls have been pretty good and not affected the outcome of this game. Tonight, so far, the Astros have simply outpitched and outhit the Sox.

Whoops, there goes another rubber tree plant! Kike again with the dinger, and the score now 5-4!!!

i don’t think he was thankful. I wasn’t.

The way I see it the goal is to win every game you play. A split in Houston would be better than 0-2, but not as good as 2-0. Just because they came back from a 5-0 deficit against Tampa doesn’t mean it will happen again. I hope this layoff won’t hurt the offense, but EO is their number one starter, and to me he should start the first game. I here all kinds of talk about how much rest a starter is on, but this isn’t like Louie Tiant throwing 130 pitches. Cora said Sale had to pitch sometime, but to me no he did not. At least as a starter. I think E Rod, Pivetta, and Houck would have been better options than Sale to pitch after EO. I hope it works out, and Sale comes back like E Rod did, and I know Cora’s decisions have pretty much all worked out, but I don’t know if the amount of innings that have been pitched by the bullpen in another grueling series with out guys imploding can be sustained. Like some have said Cora has more info than we do, and I think we’ll know early on if this was the right decision.

This game was there for the taking. EO should have started this game.

We’ll tie this B up tomorrow and head back to Fenway 1-1. Book it.

‘Night fellas.

As much as the loss sucked, I feel the same way.

A win, tomorrow.

Better team won. Tonight. Eovaldi tomorrow. Astros used 7 relievers who together pitched 6.1 innings while giving up 1 run. There is nothing wrong, especially in the postseason with all those travel days, with using your bullpen--as long as it's a good one. And tonight those Astros relievers looked pretty good to me.

Our guys did not, especially Houck, Robles, and Sawamura.

I actually feel like this was a winnable game. Tomorrow is a basically a must win. They need to get pitching otherwise this will be a quick series. Stros don’t even have their best starter.

Good call genius. The team who scores the more runs is the better team.

Great game. Tough ending.

We need to get Kike up with men on base.

The guy is in a zone like I've never seen.

Cora needs to disguise Kike to look like VAZ so that Kike can bat twice in the line-up.

Am I the only one that thought Correa's antics after the HR were a little over the top?

I also think Arroyo should have gotten the grounder before Altuve's HR. Inning would have been over.

Maybe you guys talked about this, but I just joined this thread- post game.
