Let’s face it: Hernandez choked big time.

So did Houck. At least Hernandez has the excuse of coming into a tough situation. Houck had 2 outs and no one on and promptly walked Gardner and Judge. Plus don't forget that Robles' first pitch was a wild pitch that brought in the Yankees first run.

The entire bullpen choked--and that is exactly the right word.

This is unfair second-guessing, but Vazquez has actually been better with bullpen than Plawecki. Maybe Cora should have

You talking about the 2005 or 2006 four game series in August?

No, 1978. We were up like 9 games but it was down to 4 games.

The Yanks beat us

15-3

13-2

7-0

7-4

Squandered. We have been masters at that all year.

Right now the Yankees have good pitching and the Sox don't--although Pivetta was terrific.

At one time the back of the bullpen looked pretty good with Whit, Otto, and Barnes. Now it’s a big crapshoot.

Cora had two choices. Leave Houck in with Richards warming up after the 1st walk. Or bring Richards in. He chose neither and brings in a guy who's had control problems all year. This loss goes on Cora.

Just pitiful with Rodriguez going tomorrow. The fact that this team still has a shot at a playoff spot is ridiculous. They have s*** on themselves every time.

Agree. It’s also about playing good ball at the right time. Getting your clock cleaned at Fenway in late Sept is not my idea of being hot at the right time. I don’t put this in Cora. The players just haven’t responded. It’s amazing that we are where we are with this pitching staff.

I was in Schweinfurt, Germany in 1978.

It’s the biggest game of the season to date. The closer should have been in for a 4 out save. He shouldn’t have gone to a strike challenged bullpen guy.

They will be watching the playoffs from their couches.

Cora had the lead with 4 outs to go. The best option was not Darwinzon.

I’m not letting Pivetta off the hook either. I’m fed up with starters who can’t last 6 innings no matter how well they do through 5.

I'm sorry, but Cora has to get credit for the good and the bad. Wins and losses are how managers are evaluated.

It’s not like the Yankees where playing well down the stretch either. This team just can’t get it done right now. Everything was to their favor. At home.

Assuming Houck would have either walked, or hit Rizzo I would rather have seen Houck pitch to Stanton.

Like I said earlier that head to head right now the Yankees are the better team, and have the Sox number.

do you honestly believe your own words?

Yup, he is not a high leverage guy regardless the numbers. He lacks of control and command.
