It would not have played out this way, but had Peacock not have put 4 runs of gas on the dumpster fire, the Sox theoretically would only be down 8-5 with 3 outs to go. Anytime you are within a 3 run HR or GS of the opponent , there is a slim chance you can come back. Theoretically that is also true of being down 100-0 . It's not over until the 27th out

 

It's also true that if the game had been closer, Cash wouldn't have brought in Hess.

Freaking Peacock got that ERA down into the mid 15's in a superlative junk stat effort

Peacock has that ERA down in the 17's, a major move from his previous 24++

 

If the game goes extra innings, Peacock could get it down under 10.
