I know that, but had he been called up for Peacock, he'd be slotted in the rotation for both of them. Once we start getting all these days off we have in September, we won't be going with 6 starters.

Seabold would have taken Peacock's place and eventually Pivetta's (not today's had he started instead of Peacock) slot.

You'll have to ask Bloom about the Peacock thing, but until Pivetta got COVID we had 5 healthy starters, so I'm still not sure exactly what your plan for Seabold was.

Guys going on the IL for covid is unfortunate, but it's interesting that most of the best players aren't.

Pivetta is now the #5 starter. Barnes is the closer who can't close. Bogey has the bad wrist which has affected his hitting and maybe his fielding. Santana is, well, Santana. Kike is a big loss, but Duran wasn't playing anyway. Arroyo would be a big loss except he doesn't need covid to spend most of his time on the IL--he gets injured all the freaking time. Taylor is a loss, but he wasn't pitching that well lately.

Guaranteed to be a heavy BP game now. Crawford at 48 pitches through 2 and generally ineffective . BUT, once again, start checking the LOB's and failure to hit with RISP. Almost cost them yesterday. Incidentally, was the Guardians RF'er playing deep second base when Dugo hit it over his head towards the BP ?

It's not about Pivetta getting COVID. We went with a 6th starter, when we used Peacock. My point is, and I don't think I made myself all that clear, was that had we used Seabold not Peacock, when we eventually went back to 5 starters, we'd have slid Seabold into Pivetta's slot (not today, of course.)

The Pink hat Liberals have no solution!

The solution is, protect yourself the best you can. At the end of day thats all you can do. This unfortunate situation will run its course over time that is why life must go on.

How bout this Kutter kid hey!

I think you've put the wrong hat on what is happening. The red states are being hit hardest by covid simply because they don't want vaccinations, which is just stupid. 250 years ago in this country American colonists were getting vaccinated for smallpox. Fortunately, they did not have the internet to convince them vaccinations were a communist plot.

Well, they can use Seabold in Pivetta's next scheduled start?

Jerk Lopez is far from MLB ready. Why do we keep getting tiny guys who stand 4' off the plate and then chase balls outside.

He pitched 6 innings last night. Had they known Pivetta was going on the Covid list today, they would have had him skip that and he’d have pitched today. Of course, gaining that knowledge would have required you to do something other than criticize every move with 20-20 hindsight.

Seabold should have been up two weeks ago, the kid is 25, how long you going to wait ?

You keep on rooting for these waiver wire stiffs !

Just feels like one of those throw away games. They don’t have one of their best hitters in the lineup. They have a crappy pitcher pitching. Problem is this team can’t afford throw away games.
