Where are all Houck haters? LOL!

I don’t get why anyone would hate him. He’s nasty, and young. There is going to be growing paints like most young pitchers but I’m really excited about his potential

A Nolan Ryan type no-hitter. 9 walks, no hits, 13K's and a pitch count of close to 200.

I remember listening to a game from the west coast, probably 1974 or 1975 between Ryan and Luis Tiant. The Angels won it in 15. Tiant went the distance in the loss; Ryan wimped out after only 13. IIRC, Ryan struck out 19 Sox that night while walking a ton as well. I think Cecil Cooper set or tied a record by striking out 6 times.

People somehow don’t give him credit —“he’s nothing but 2-pitch pítcher”.

Sure!

You are exaggerating.

Most of the Houck people bringing up the two pitch issue said they thought he should or could be our closer, so that's hardly bashing.

On the one hand, it ends up being a not so great line score for Houck, but he wasn’t exactly sharp and was lucky the Tribe didn’t get him earlier.

He'll be an important part of the BP next season. Typical of the SOX farm system when it comes to pitchers; Houck was drafted in 2017 and in that time in the SOX farm system he comes to the big show with 2 effective pitches-FB and slider. As a reliever he should be OK with those two weapons.

Houck has good stuff, but not good command. Plus the 3d time through the order is usually pretty tough for him. He got the first guy out, the dinger, HBP, and HBP, Cora to the mound. A grounder moves the runners, and a single brings both home.

4-3 with three big innings to go.

Great dinger by Devers!! Much needed.

I must admit, I was a bit surprised they kept Houck in, especially after the HR.

He was over 80 pitches and had the long delay after warming up.
