The one bright spot.... After this nasty stretch of Rays, Jays, Yankees. We have the Rangers, Twins, Guardians (Guardians whatever) coming up. We have a very favourable schedule..... If we can't win these series, we don't belong anywhere near a playoff spot.

 

Twins have actually been good lately. In their last 3 series they played against Tampa, ChiSox, and Houston and went 7-3, winning each series.

Tonight is a game that we should win. Heaney is really awful and the Yankee bullpen is tired. No excuse not to win this one.

I'll take my chances against them rather than Tampa or New York. Again, if we can't beat Minnesota we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Losing to a very good Tampa (division rival) ok, losing to a red hot Yankees team ok..... Losing a series against Minnesota who has struggled all year is not acceptable in my books. We don't deserve to even sniff the playoffs if we lose to every "decent" team. Minnesota is not a great team this year.... Maybe they are a bit hot at the moment, but they aren't making playoffs and aren't a team that people circle on their calendar as a sure loss. It's a series that Boston should win. Minnesota is not a top ten in any category... In fact, are they even a top 20 in pitching? Again, we lose to them.... We shouldn't even be close to a playoff spot.
