You guys still pounding desrvedly in many cases on the pitchers, and now VAZ , but where are the baserunners followed by key hits that win games

True but Eovaldi had to come up with something better today. He hasn’t gotten help but come on get out of the damn inning!!!! This team is cooked. Frankly i put a lot of this on bloom as well. A good move would have reenergized this team.

F'ing HR's all over the place by TBR's, even the #9 hitter. But it was another fastball , center cut. The kind Dalbec cannot elevate

Once again this team is down. What else is new.

This team is playing like they’re dead last in the al east. No energy whatsoever.

My bad. I forgot my usual 'except EO.'

No bad by you. I was just being a jerk. But we do disagree. I think really good catchers can help pitchers find a way to get batters out when they don't have their best stuff or command, which happens quite often. I also think job one for all catchers is to get the most out of the pitcher actually in the game and not the one they would like to have on the mound. I don't think Vazquez does that--the same way he doesn't prevent wild pitches from getting away and is tied for the lead league in passed balls and runs the bases like an idiot because he thinks he's Jacoby Ellsbury or something.

Sox caught a huge break there. Vazquez didn't try to steal 2b and get thrown out. Maybe Cora told him to knock that stuff off.

In any case, a very timely dinger by Dalbec!!!!!!!!!

Like I posted earlier, Max, check the career stats of the 3 bums I listed. When the GM is dumpster diving for starters, the catcher shouldn't have to be Houdini.

Clearly Arauz misses Worcester. Mighty fine folks live there who love their AAA team and will welcome Arauz back like their prodigal son.

Eovaldi seriously did not come through for this team today.

You do know that Vazquez called for four straight fastballs from a pitcher whose fastball has proven, year after year, to be very hittable?

Excellent mental picture of another future HoF'er, LOL

I fail to understand why Eck is so enamored with Sox hitters "just missing" a pitch. Missing it is "didn't get it" right Eck.

Should EO come back in the bottom of the 5th? I would say no. Will he come back? Most probably.

Yes, EO will be out for the 5th, but Plawecki will be catching

Probably right. With any other Sox catcher, I'd bring him back. But Vazquez is clueless. That dinger in the 4th was the result of Vazquez calling for fastballs and nothing but fastballs--Eovaldi's most hittable pitch.

That makes zero sense in that VAZ has caught most of EO's games. So when EO has a good game, EO gets all the credit, but when EO stinks up the place, it's VAZ's fault. Yup, that make sense.

The VAZ bashing is getting kind of tedious.

Every time I drive up to Vegas, i pass ZZyZx Road and think of Cora's favorites, VaZqueZ, ArauZ, ,MartineZ, RodrigueZ, GonZaleZ, etc.

JD has never seen a low outside pitch he won't swing at.

It is inexplicable for a professional hitter who studies video religously. It is obvious that all teams and piutchers have the "book" on him pegged for low sliders away , and yet he chases and chases and chases. Rapidly losing respect for him, but not as much as Vaz , however

'Just missed' is the universal mantra for most unsuccessful endeavors, except for horseshoes and hand grenade tossing.
