This is the Sox 13th of 19 games without a break. Last night went to 12 innings and Friday night 10 innings, which was the day/night after playing the A's at Fenway and then flying across the country.

I have never seen as many lazy fly balls and pop-ups as this year. We have some innings where both teams combine for 6 outs worth of lazy fly balls and pop-ups.

Both starters are keeping their pitches out of the ugly zone and this park favors pitchers. It sure as hell does not favor hitters.

It's actually sad that the Sox last two power prospects , Dalbec and Chavis, fail to hit the ball 3 times out of 4 today, and consistently walk back to the dugout 35-40% of the time.

I am sure Chavis can't do it on command but if there is one park in baseball I would want to level out my swing in, its this one. A shame X needed the day off. He and Rafi have the most level, on plane swings on this team. Henhandez has a pretty level swing.

Playing good baseball. Just like he did with us. Not sure why we sent him down in the first place. Send Andriese down and keep Valdez. He’s better plain and simple.

 

7 games, 6 1/3 innings, 6 hits, 3 runs (all earned), 4 walks and 8 Ks don’t exactly scream good nor “I should be promoted today”.

 

Andriese can’t be sent directly down; he has to clear waivers plus he cannot be sent down without his permission.

 

I’m not advocating for Andriese; I just don’t see Valdez as that viable an option. Andriese’s days on the roster are less than or equal to the number of days until Chris Sale is back on it.
