Problem with Rodriguez is how much his velocity has decreased? His location has been terrible at times.

The one advantage the SOX have with E-Rod starting is his history of getting runs from the SOX offense.

This ain't the old ERod who, even in his good year (2019) insisted on throwing all or almost all fastballs in the first inning no matter what.

 

I don't think he needs a great fastball to be successful. Command is way more important, and so far he has it. Plus a nice variety of pitches.
