Was I the only one rooting for Stanton to walk there to load the bases rather than give Stanton something to hit?

I wasn't going that far, but was not unhappy when he did walk. Your point is a good one.

Double-clutch Bogie throws out slow running Voit.

I hate it when X doesn't just let it go regardless of who is running. Most of his throwing errors have come on just that sort of throw.

Has any of these crap rules actually sped up the game?

Nothing will speed up this game. It has gone beyond any chance to speed it up. Now that players have to consult their deceased relatives before doing anything on the baseball diamond its hopeless.

3 walks with a 3 run lead. A guy that can’t get an out.

Meh. He also gave up no singles or, worse, extra base hits. Those were the three most dangerous hitters on the Yankees. Thus Ottavino comes in to get the easy grounder from Voit, who is level below those other three. Maybe Cora should have left Eovaldi in, but few if any managers would have.

Speaking of Johan Santana, I remember when the Red Sox (Theo) were involved in trade talks for Santana, and it looked like something might get done. Someone on Soxprospects suggested including Ryan Kalish in the deal for Santana, and the forum completely flipped out like how dare you trade away a great talent like Ryan Kallish. That shows you the mentality of Soxprospects.com.

Lars was untouchable! LOL!

Imagine Dalbec and Chavis running a hitting clinic for youngsters. They would teach them how to swing at too many pitches, expand the strike zone, fall behind in the count, strike out on a consistent basis. That would some hitting clinic--no one would go.

I know the new rule of magically placing a runner at second does shorten extra innings games, but it makes a joke of the game.

Now when I personally attempt to make a joke of the game, Moon is right there to correct me.

Damn, Moon, don't let facts get in the way of my getting to employ the word 'sayonara.'

I actually felt the way you did, but wanted to check before I agreed.

I hate the extra inning rule, but I hate long games more.
