Learned two things last night:

1)Astros are the team to beat in the AL.

2)Isles won't win the Cup, but they were the better team vs the BRUINS.

Here's hoping Greinke has an off night and E-Rod has an on night.

Seems like the whole world would be betting on the Stros.

That being said, take the Sox, tonight.

I figured that other poster's would be worried about their mojo going against this streak the Sox have against the Stros. I am not.

.

We've been unfortunate against the Astros, and I've seen a lot of them, this year.

They are a top contender, but they have looked bas vs some other teams. Their pen has been horrific, at times.

Verlander ain't coming back.

They are still behind the A's, and went 0-5 vs DET/COL, this year.

Now, the scary part.

They have 7 regulars with an OPS over .800- in a season where .800 is the new .900.

They have 8 guys over .775.

If Castro is in the line-up, they have 9 guys over .775

(I did not count Castro due to his 59 PA sample size, but all the others have 120+ PAs and are top 10 in PAs on the team.)

Without Verlander, they still have 5 starters with an ERA under 3.76 (4 are under .338).

Only their pen has awful numbers.

Here's a question I'm throwing out there:

When a runner is put on 2nd base in extra innings and he scores, is that run charged to the pitcher who started the inning? Seems highly unfair in regards to his stats.

Just watched the Phillies beat the Braves on a walk-off hit in extra innings. I'd noticed how careful the Phillies players were during the celebration. Definitely more careful than Fed Ex or UPS is when delivering a package.

It's not charged as an earned run . But they are charged with a loss or blown save as the case may be.

Correct. It's charged as an unearned run. See: Phillips Valdez stat line in the 6-5 win over the Yanks.

I think the Sox will win today. ERod will perform well again. We will destroy Greinke.

I placed a parlay of Brewers, Sox and Twins of 100 bucks which pays 690. Brewers already won. Two to go.

Let’s f go!

Good luck! You're a braver man than I.

I think Tatis brings more stats to the table.

OK, I see now this game is going to really piss me off. ERod, that cheap dinger notwithstanding, is pitching as well as I can remember.

The lineup, however, looks like they all need their mommies because Greinke's being mean to them.
