Plus while he only threw 5 pitches last night, he did have to warm up so there is some wear and tear there.

Two mistakes this inning. First a walk to Judge, then several knuckle curves right in the middle of the zone to Torres. Neither the knuckle curve nor the fastball works by itself. You gotta mix them and, you know, if possible, keep them away from the freaking dead center of the strike zone.

Meh he could have stuck with workman. It was a four run lead but the guy only threw 5 pitches.

Barnes is beyond question the best reliever we've got and one of the best in MLB. But he isn't invincible. Somehow, the combo of him, Vazquez, Cora, and the pitching coach encouraged/allowed Barnes to get away from the approach--mixing the knuckle curve with the fastball--which is pretty hard to beat.

No way, no how would I have stuck with Workman, at least not this year's version. He gave up a dinger in his previous outing and is far from trustworthy.
