Confidence or not, a good manager cannot let his bench players simply rot on the pine until someone gets hurt. They need occasional action...

Ya I second this.

Just want to give a shout out to Max and his extreme game thread mojo.

I have purposefully stayed out of the game threads during this win streak so as not to jinx it. LOL

Et tu, Brute? Are we all this superstitious when we know in our heart of hearts it's the players who are working the magic?

I do remember that in one game in the streak I was listening on the radio, the Sox fell behind, and I quit listening until they got the lead back. I'm 80 and endured 55 years of fandom during the 86 year curse--and should know better by now.

FWIW, I also started an 8 straight game-winning thread in April 2018. It's on page 21.

But this year I'm banking my hopes on what I have seen on the field, a club that won't quit. The hitting is way better than expected, and so is the pitching. The defense, not so much.

Rationally, I know that the outcomes of these games don't revolve around my behavior. But the Sox won their first 3 games against the Rays when I was out of town and unable to post on Talksox. So irrationally, I'm not taking any chances of jinxing anything! And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to my superstitious Red Sox behavior. LOL

You are the man, Max!

It's been mentioned many times, but I really think that Cora is a huge factor in the way these guys are playing.

Something about baseball makes me crazy superstitious.

With regard to the 4/4 mojo, after we won a couple I noticed that 4/4 is Groundhog Day (2/2) times two. But I didn't want to mention it and jinx anything.
