About the best we could expect from ERod.

Pen looked solid.

4 hitters with 2+ hits and Marwin on base 3 times.

Gotta like the trend, here.

And, first place!

But, like I said, way too early to care about standings.

Sanity would have been having today with no game.

Well our home opener last Thursday is the perfect example of why that scheduled off day exists. It's a built in rain date

We should have no complaints with his outing, considering what he's been through.

What they do is build in a rain day for home openers.

Only in outdoor stadiums located in the North. Somehow, they played 4 straight in Colorado last weekend. That should be a city that needs that scheduled off day, for either rain or snow

Now you've got me intrigued - do the Rockies get a lot of games rained out?

Well they definitely lead the NL West in rain outs - and snow outs, for that matter

Barnes K'd all 3 in the ninth.

He had a 14.4 K/9 rate from 2018-2021, before this game.

Maybe he can be that closer we've needed. (The 5 BB/9 and 1.0 HR/9 are a bit concerning over the same time frame.)

JD and Vazquez may be the hottest hitters on the planet right now
i didn’t understand all the negativity about JD. Throw out last season for everyone. Heck, the Marlins made the playoffs and Tampa went to the World Series. The entire season was a mockery.

if you throw out last year and rank JD last 5 or 6 seasons for OPS and TB you would find that he is in very elite company. He isn’t that old, hasn’t suffered a debilitating injury and pitchers don’t figure out how to neutralize a big bat after all these years.

His numbers on 0 days rest are atrocious...

I agree completely. As long as we still had JD this year, I knew the offense would be formidable

JDM transformed the Sox lineup in 2018, which turned out to be a pretty decent season.
