I didn’t realize yesterday wasn’t his throw day and he’s now burned from starting game 4. We have JMont, who’s looked better of late but by no means a sure thing, starting what will either be a clinching or elimination level game. Like most moves, if it had worked, Boone would be looking like a genius right now. Since it didn't work, he's looking like a doofus and taking a lot of flak for it.

Happ's comments after the game made it sound like he hadn't really bought into the move. And we know he was already pissed off about the vesting option thing. And he hadn't pitched in a while.

 

Maybe he wasn't the best guy to try this strategy with.

The Yank's starting pitching is not very deep anyway. Happ is not all that good , and Deivi Garcia is very much overrated .
