Only thing I’ll say is he needs to find out what DHern can do in game pressure situations. Overall, the results have not been great this year for Darwinzon in that regard.

 

Obviously the move didn’t work, but those screaming for see what the kids can do should be happy.

 

I seriously doubt any other manager in MLB would have taken POR out of the game. Cora is definitely special.

Agreed. He was flying tonight and was at a low pitch count so I am surprised he was taken out of the game as well. Should have left him in for another inning or two and then let Workman close it out

One of the things learned this year is that none of the newer , young pitchers show enough clear ability and skills to be counted on next year. They are getting exposure but not much closure. Cashner is no day at the beach either

Cash might have; he overmanages IMO, but in his case, he has the bullpen to back it up.
