Brian johnson is a horrible pitcher, but man JD is almost as bad of a fielder. He looks really bad and slow out there

Cora put him out there.

Whereas Albert can't run on anything, infield clay or outfield grass, JD can make his way around the bases OK. But he cannot run in the OF grass AT ALL.

Slasher mentioned a few days ago why didn't the SOX give JD some experience at 1st base?

BJ is the rare case of a pitcher who came up thru the SOX organization and didn't pan out.

Splinter currently looking for a crowbar to remove his tongue having so firmly lodged it in his cheek.

There has to be something to that. Maybe JD has no interest at all. He may be too ungainly for 1st base. I could believe that. Playing that position is not just falling out of bed for somebody that is a career OFer and sort of lopes around like a wounded giraffe.

LOL you can't be that desperate to use BJ.

Need somebody who can at least go 2-3 innings. Cashner’s not available. Plus the past few games, Johnson’s issues have been in the first inning he pitches, then he’s okay for a couple. Have to hope that pattern continues tonight.

Brockstar is really having a very good year under the radar.

Always has been a very professional ballplayer and those guys really stand out in this era. Used to be buckets and buckets of them.

JD is a DH. Ortiz could at least play 1st base at times and seldom embarrass himself.

I suspect if we ever saw Ortiz and JD on a dance floor at the same time, that would give us our explanation.

Its BJ!!!! He is past his 1st inning now. Maybe he will be OK for a second inning.

I was just checking BJ's stats. Surprisingly, he has a career WAR of +1.2. Btw, good shutdown inning.

Isn't this just like a BJ start? Cardiac 1st inning. OK for a second and usually a third before your next aneurysm.

Right Handed batters this year are hitting .416, so that must be a different Johnson.
