Cashner's scheduled start was last Saturday, so, as someone mentioned, he's not sharp due to long layoff.

So you know for a fact that neither of these guys are going to make it to the majors? Why on earth would you further weaken an already sucky farm system by throwing gasoline on a burning house? Its pretty clear that this team is going nowhere; they aren't going to turn it around. They are chasing too many decent teams. Once I have determined that I made a bad investment I NEVER invest more money in it. Like I said, it is what it is.

Also, there is the proven fact that playing for the SOX is a little more pressure intense than playing for teams like the O's.

Lets not forget that he is here to take the NO. 5 spot. If we are expecting something better we are fooling ourselves.

 

Said that IMO Cashner is a good addition for that role.

Another thing I dislike about nesn. Everytime a Sox hitter comes up, they show him hitting his last dinger as in "hint, hint." Then, just as Vazquez just did, the hitter strikes out.
