Should never have let Mayza pitch to Chavis. He could not control his breaking pitches and that is all Chavis can really hit...a breaking ball in the middle of the plate. Mayza had no idea where his Slider was going tonight. Wild in the strike zone is hardly any different than wild off the plate....just more damaging to the pitcher.

Boy, was I wrong about not scoring enough. God bless America and Chavis. We put 9 players up that inning. Technically to bat around you have to get the first hitter back at the plate but it was impressive. Walks and singles are good but Chavis put the icing on the cake. We are all jaded by the performance of our BP. Cross your fingers.

Then again, the Jays Manager is stuck in the same box Cora is in. How many times have we seen Biagini? Yet that is all Montoya had to bring if he wanted to come get Mayza to have somebody proper pitch to Chavis. There is simply no pitching in MLB. None....zippo.....nada. A few decent arms surrounded by buckets of sludge.

 

Somebody is going to grab Giles off this team....probably Stroman too.
