The Sox are not a very good team for a lot of reasons right now, but belting 3 HR first inning (1st since '79) and then doing nothing v. nothing relievers is part of it.

I can't call this a bad outing for ERod pitching off this mound. He survived it. Made some adjustments and finally started to make more good pitches by the 4th inning and survived the middle of their order in the 5th. I can't ask more of him under the circumstances.

Let's also be clear that if they had Moreland, Pearce out there, you don't see Travis or even Nunez. Beni not playing is a joke, the others have legitimate injuries.

The announcers are complaining about that strike like ERod threw it to the backstop. It was at worst a borderline pitch.
